China Bear Restaurant — Restaurant in Baton Rouge

We like this place, easily in the top 3 of all Chinese food in Baton Rouge. We like the hot and spicy chicken (very spicy) Kung Pao chicken and Mongolian Beef (also spicy). Everything was a bit on the spicier side than expected but we love spicy here! so no complaint from me but just as a guide for others. I personally love it that a place actually makes the dishes that are supposed to be spicy actually spicy! At most other places even the dishes that are supposed to be spicy have zero heat to them, so I applaud this place!

The Beef and Broccoli is also great. Egg rolls and Crab Rangoon very good. Only thing we don't like is the teriyaki chicken it comes on a stick and was over cooked, it pretty tough but the crispy outside was nice and flavor good and the fried rice isnt the best I have ever had but most dishes have a sauce on the meat part and mixes well with the rice to make the rice so good! I called my order in an hour and half early. When I arrived the young girl that greeted me had no idea what I was talking about. She had to go find her mom who rushed out because she clearly had forgotten about the call in. The ticket was still on the counter. I asked for sweet and sour sauce and she gave me duck sauce. When I asked again she told me it’s the same thing (which it is not) and I just took it because I was tired and already had to wait 20 minutes for something that should have been done when I arrived. I would give this one star if I could. We ordered a sesame chicken dinner, a small order of house, fried rice and a small order of chicken lo mein. Total of $34. The chicken in the dinner was stringy and overcooked. The fried rice was colored brown, but had zero flavor to it and was in big clumps. The lo mein tasted like it was cooked in chicken broth.
