The Lost Cove — Restaurant in Baton Rouge

This is by far the greatest place for me to grab a drink in town! The staff is extremely knowledgeable and very personable, making the social experience quite a delight. There are regular meetings here of some local organizations promoting whiskey and brewing that offer for interesting insight into these fields for those that aren’t normally so inclined. Oh yeah... The FOOD!!!! Where do I begin... I almost would like to leave a second review for the food alone because it is so out of this world. Their chef is clearly on a level of his own when it comes to ingredient selection, seasonal variety, and presentation. The Boutine Fries are absolutely to-die-for, the shredded chicken with jack cakes are first class, their gumbo is perfect for getting a good layer in before the next round. I’ve had the pleasure of eating here almost every time I visit and now make it a point to order at least one food...

Friday evening and the place was a ghost town. The bartender was friendly enough, but the atmosphere was non existent and the drinks were pretty over priced. The food was so so, but absolutely not worth the wait. Took over a half hour for a burger and fries. My wife's nacho fries were clearly microwaved so that was pretty disappointing especially considering the wait time. Couldn't even use the busy kitchen excuse because there was a total of maybe 8 people in the whole place. Not really sure how this place has such high reviews. Google Definitely fooled...

This place is top notch for craft cocktails with a huge selection of liquors and liqueurs. Try any of the specialty drinks or go to try a new gin/ scotch/ whiskey. The bartenders are friendly and the place is kept clean, the new outdoors seating is wonderful when the weather is cooler.

Didn't try any of the food so can't speak on that but if it's anything like the drinks, it should...
