There were NO disappointments for this meal.
The items were consistent with other good places, but two items really stood out and would recommend others to try them if they are fans.
The filafel was off the chart and very fresh. The manager came out to check for customer satisfaction and explained that the filafel was not made out of "powder" like other places. The side tahini sauce was properly prepared, but just a little bitter, on the end, for my palate.
The spanikopita was also very good. The crust was flaky and the spinach was fresh and tender the bechémel sauce was not overly rich, and was properly salted.
The hummus had a coarse texture to it, and tasted very fresh, and homemade.
The chicken, the gyro meat, pita bread, and the grecian sauce were comparable to other places.
The lebanese tea was fresh and properly prepared.
The baklava was good and did not have copious amounts of sugar drizzle like at other places. I prefer it without the extra sugar.
I was impressed by the lamb I observed being cooked while on my visit, but had ordered too much food to also order that.
Please see the attached pictures of the lamb being made.
I will definitely be back to try the lamb and the moussaka.
There is a drive thru window for easy pick up, and a coupon for first time...
Read moreI tried Cafe Petra last year (2021) and it was just “ok.” We spent about $50 and got a good sampling of lots of their offerings. We both love Greek food and had high hopes. Food was good but not great. But my wife and I overlooked the shortcomings and assumed it was due to Covid.
So today was our first return visit and we were optimistic. We spent about $35 and ordered several items. Sadly, it was more disappointing than the first time. The hummus was very mediocre with no significant taste at all. The peta bread was similar. My wife found the baba Ganesh somewhat tasteless. And the falafel was just bland with none of the characteristic falafel taste. It was well prepared, gorgeous but bland. We were both quite shocked. We also ordered the Kafka kabob but were served and charged for the Combo Kabob, a $6 up-charge. It was good, tasty but did not “rock.” And the beef portion of the kabob had a background taste that made us think it was a bit old…so we did not eat but one bite of it.
I really want this restaurant to succeed. We love to eat Greek food and always look for a Greek restaurant...
Read moreThe reviews on yelp are accurate. They have their employees posting good reviews here. This establishment gives you a little bit of food for the price. Beware, they just want customers to pay high prices for sampler sizes, like kids meal. After 2 hours you are hungry again. Albasha and Serops are generous in portions. They will give you more food for the same price. The falafel is dry and tasteless. The hummus has water on the top, which means it's not fresh. Now I'm being accuse of shopping for discounts. They have many Yelp reviews about pricey and small portions of food. Their plate servings are like kids meal. Other Lebanese restaurants will give you more food for the same prices. Serops, Wendy's, McDonald's will give you more fries for a kids meal. Which in my review I stated that all the reviews are from the employees. Look up the review of Sherif and Abdelrahman. I've seen them from ordering inside and at the drive thru. Sheriff took my card when I paid. His name is in...
