Our dinner was amazing the few nights we dinned at Topolinos back in November 2023. However the breakfast was not worth it due to the limited menu range. One of the last days towards the end of our trip we decided to try the character breakfast, and I wish we stopped at the dinners. My boyfriend had asked if he could get a photo with all of the characters and the entertainment manager said this was absolutely not allowed. We kind of thought This was rude and overreacting as it was to the side, when none of the other diners could see. Our group sat down and We looked past it ordered our meals and waited. The pastries were delicious. Our food came out, and Two of our steak and eggs meals were cold. My poached eggs came out pretty much hard boiled after explaining to the waitress multiple times I only like them poached very runny. Our server was very nice and it was not her fault. We had asked to speak to a manager due to these issues as we had plans we needed to get to and did not wish to wait for the remake the meals. It was about 20 minutes in and I had to get up and ask my server again to been seen as we had plans and needed to leave. At this point 2 of us didn’t eat and were now running late to where we need to be. The gentleman whose name I can’t remember ( maybe Chris ) said he’d be right with us. We waited another 5 minutes and he came over listed to us. His response was dismissive and rude. He told us that it was impossible for the steak and egg meals to come out cold and said he would not refund us because that’s what it appeared we were looking for. I was so appalled that a manager would speak this way especially as someone who worked in the fine dining food industry from 18-24 yrs old. I had kept my cool and explained to him again, I would have no problem with that if we had time for our meals to be remade and time to eat them but at this point, we we’re already late due to waiting for him to come speak to us. At this point it had been over 30mins of waiting/talking to management we were late for our next plan of the day and we needed to get there as soon as we could. He again declined, refunding our two meals out of the 4, I had asked to speak with his boss at this point. He told our table that he was the boss and no one could overrule him at this point and we were wasting our time. My boyfriend paid just so we could get out of there! We were mortified! The waitress was so apologetic, and could not understand why he was being this way. I truly felt embarrassed for her. We ended up taking this up with our resort pop century during check out. The woman checking us out happened to know the manager at Topolino Terrace Boss personally. He ended up calling us personally apologizing and refunded us for the entire meal due to the managers behaviors. This overly nice and completed unexpected. We thanked him many times. Never have I ever experienced something like this on Disney property. I’ve always had people be so polite willing to help and if anything overly kind. I am willing to go back for the dinner as it was fabulous and give it a second chance our next trip. But after this whole experience, my boyfriend is pretty against going back there due to this gentleman...

I can honestly say this was the worst dining experience I've ever had! And as a vegan (not eaten meat for 34 years) and with an allergy I've had bad service many times before, but nothing like this. I would like to add I am an epipen carrier so a dairy reaction can be very serious for me.
We were seated with my allergy menu and Allan our server told my friend her options. Then turned to me and said "dairy allergy". I said yes but I'm vegan anyway so I know what I'm having. He said "well I'm just interested in the allergy as I need to fill out 3 lots of paperwork". Bit abrupt but, whatever.
Off he went for 5 mins, again just speaking to my friend when he returns. I asked which wine has no dairy in. He says "it's all fine, wine never has dairy in". We both said, yes it does. To which he replies "well I'm the expert and I'm telling you it doesn't!" Then he asked my friend what she wanted and I said, please can I just have a glass of any white wine that's safe for me to have. He said "well maybe you shouldn't drink wine then", and walked away. I was so shocked, we both just sat there in silence and I was literally shaking!
Eventually the Manager Kyle came over with a glass of wine for me to try. We said how rude the server was. He said he'd have a word with him. Allan continued to serve us, but spoke only to my friend and ignored me. In the end I had to call over the Manager and say Allan upset me so much I didn't want him serving me. I was almost in tears as I was speaking to him. He said he'd look after us personally, that was the last time we saw him!
Food arrived, starters were mediocre at best. I like spicy but the sauce with the zucchini fritters was so hot you couldn't taste any flavour and the gnocchi was tasteless. My main course cauliflower was actually pretty good. My friend's fillet mignon was inedible and burnt. No one had checked on us, so we had to call someone over to send it back, no sign of the Manager and it took 20 minutes for food to come out again, by which point I'd long finished mine and we'd been there 80 minutes.
When we asked for the check it was for the full $225. Normally I wouldn't say anything. We've had $400 meals before where there's been issues but handled well and happily paid. This we were not happy to pay!! We asked for the manager but he didn't want to speak to us, but took off Kate's main course and 2 glasses of wine. Total was still $145 (which included $20 tip!) and to be frank I feel I've been robbed!
You can tell that the issues come from the top down due to the Manager's attitude. I will add servers (Albert I think and Mia) and chef Chris were lovely and tried to help us. European fine dining this restaurant is not! For the same cost as this meal we had an amazing dining experience, with excellent food and service at Citricos. Save your money and dine...
Read moreWe've been wanting to experience this restaurant for quite a long time after reading many blogs suggesting the place. Mind you, it is listed as a Signature Dinning. Finally, we scored a reservation the first weekend of February. We got to the place a few minutes earlier since we wanted to explore and check out the Riviera Resort also. At the check-in desk, we asked, since we got there early, if we can go to the bar and have a drink while waiting and also check the terrace. The answer was: The bar is full (it was not) and we only have one bar tender tonight, if you want a drink go downstairs and have it in the pool bar and you can bring it upstairs without a problem and wait in the terrace. Not a ideal situation but that's what we did. We got drinks in a plastic glass (no-no) and went upstairs to the terrace (very nice view BTW). We were called in few minutes so the wait was very short. We were seated at a booth with a view to the elevator and the Check-In desk (there were another options). Our server, Steven was EXCELLENT! Thank you Steven. He was the one who confirmed to us that we should have been seated at the bar and not go to the pool to get drinks. We placed our order and Steven told us that the kitchen was a little behind and there would be a gap between the appetizer and the main course (no problem with that since we were not in a rush and wanted to enjoy the moment). We ordered the Escargot en Gougères as appetizer (VERY GOOD! you must need to ask for extra bread) and the Pork Shank Blanquette & Bouillabaisse as our entrees. The appetizer arrived and while Steven was still talking to us, the entrees arrived. The gap was not even 2 minutes!!! Steven immediately send them back, his words: "No, let the guests enjoy the appetizer" He was very attentive and commanding. Entrees arrived later on. Bouillabaisse was EXTREMELY good, I did not regret my selection. I did not left anything on the plate. My cousin opted for the Pork Shank which she find on the bland side. Not stellar. Our selections for desserts were Vanilla and Citrus Crème Brûlée & Warm Chocolate Cake. The Warm cake was really good. We found the Crème Brûlée normal, nothing out of the ordinary. As a whole, it was a rather unexpected experience. Maybe our expectations were set too high. No complain whatsoever for Steven, he was great! Topolino's, you need to do better. We will give you another opportunity.
UPDATE We return and this time we got a space at the bar. We wanted to have a full meal before returning home in South Florida. We got our order rather quickly and the food was good (Escargot en Gougères, Chicken Sugo Rigatoni, and Classic Sole Meunière). For that reason, I'm upgrading 1 star to my previous review. In our next opportunity, provided it would be a sit-down menu, I would update my original. At this moment, I would...
