We scheduled an anniversary reception at Trapani's for 15 people on the balcony for 7 p.m. When our party arrived on time, the entire balcony was full of people. There was no room for us. The restaurant told us that they scheduled us for 7:30, but I had an online receipt that they had us scheduled for 7:00. We had to sit in the upstairs bar trying to feed our guests appetizers that came very late. They were under staffed upstairs and in the end, we didn't get seated until 8 p.m. The whole thing was a mess. It was extremely embarrassing to my husband and I. The appetizers were very good, but the food over all was not good. We didn't get served until 9:00 p.m. when the restaurant closes. The restaurant was taking care of their downstairs guests before all of us. The food was over priced and several of us ended up not eating it because it wasn't very good at all. The Gumbo was tomato based and not in a roux. My chicken was grilled but it was tough like almost inedible. Our guests were complaining about the price for what they received. While we were eating, the staff was cleaning up to close. It was truly awful. I think our waitress was really trying but she was also stressed by things being wrong and the kitchen forgetting us until closing. I will never ever take a group there again and I seriously doubt we'll ever go there again. We chose Trapani's because we knew this restaurant from long ago and loved it. We also had a birthday party there about 2 years ago and everything went well. I don't know what happened, but they really dropped the ball with us. That was without doubt the worst restaurant experience I've ever had and I so regret it. This was a very special anniversary and we really needed it to go well. When we returned home, most of our left overs went in...
Read moreWent here with my finacé on his birthday. We were greeted by a nonchalant hostess. She then places us at a dirty table and quickly cleans it off. Next to us was another dirty table, which was left unattended for over an hour with flies buzzing all around it. We just blew it off, thinking they're just understaffed. We then order our drinks and an appetizer, it took almost 30 minutes to get the drinks. By the time the drinks came we were ready to order our meal. We waited over an hour to get our appetizer, by the time our appetizer came out, our drinks were empty and were not refilled even upon asking. Seems like the waitress got lost. We had just started to eat our appetizer and noticed it was cold. 10 minutes later I was served my side salad for my main dish and it had 3 small cherry tomatoes and barely a small handful of lettuce. All the while waiting for our food a couple with a little girl around 4 year old gets seated next to us. They let her jump from seat to seat hoping and hollering. She was hitting my fiancé with her toy and swinging from both our table and theirs at the same time causing our food for spill. Nothing was said or done about this. The mother just ignored it as I stared at her and the brat. The family also got their drinks, appetizer, and meal before us and it was a lot. Once our food finally arrived the couple next to us was leaving. I was so upset along side my fiancé, we've heard nothing but great reviews for this restaurant. I guess they were too busy with their 2 other customers. We paid our bill and left. Sadly to say we wont be returning to this establishment. It takes a lot to upset me, but this really did the job. I hope every thing gets better for this restaurant, I really do. Best wishes to the next poor soul to...
Read moreRestaurant we wanted to go to was closed so we decided to go to Trapanis. We've been to this place before, yet never at this location. The location shouldn't matter--if the food was good at one location, it should be good at the next location. OMG. It was horrible. We went there to celebrate the birthday of a family member. Someone at our table ordered SEAFOOD gumbo -- it was gumbo, but NO seafood was in it. She looked and looked for even a hint of some kind of seafood -- nothing but okra and bay leaves. Another person at our table ordered a SEAFOOD platter -- the waitress even repeated the order. What was served was an OYSTER platter. Asked for ketchup -- the fries were almost gone before she finally brought it to us. My pasta bordelaise was nothing but spaghetti with butter. No garlic taste whatsoever. We will NEVER be returning to this restaurant and we will NEVER recommend this place to anyone. We would have done better by going to Popeyes. No, we didn't leave a tip -- if the waitress had gotten our order right, she may have gotten one. But when she repeated what he ordered, then said she wrote something else down, she lost her tip. Trapanis needs to do better. It's gone down hill, a long long way. Oh -- then when she gave us the tab, she said she wasn't going to charge us extra for the oyster platter, because it wasn't the seafood platter. I guess not. We won't be coming here anymore. Owner -- I guess this is who it was - greeted us wearing those damn pajama pants and a tee shirt. Seriously?? Don't waste your time, appetite or wallet in this place. I work locally and am asked to recommend a good place to eat. This place will NOT be one...
