Tripletails Restaurant — Restaurant in Bay Saint Louis

We gave this restaurant a second chance. We visited this restaurant last Memorial Day and had terrible service, and the food was ok, not great.

This time, the restaurant was nearly empty, so we were able to sit where we chose. We sat on one of the balconies and had a very nice view. The server was very nice and quick. The food was terrible. We ordered nachos for the appetizer, and it was horrible. The chips were rubbery and not crunchy at all. The white cheese was sticky and barely warm. Could not even eat more than a couple bites. The entrees came soon after, but not any more edible. I ordered the red fish tacos, and the fish was soggy and tasteless. The toppings were bland. My husband and daughter ordered the cheese steak on ciabatta bread. Husband ate 3 or 4 bites and left the rest. My daughter said the meat was very dry and very little cheese. We also ordered 4 beers and a sweet tea. $80.+ !!!! We don't commonly complain to the server because she is no way the one to blame for the food. Her service was very good. We are SO DISAPPOINTED. And for the cost, we should not have left hungry. We should not have paid, We will not be back for...

This experience started out pretty rough to have ended up being a 4 start experience. Upon arrival, they immediately bussed up a great balcony table (or veiw is in pic) to seat us right away. Then our party waited at least 20 minutes watching other tables be seated and served drink without any acknowledgement. We were walking out when the owner stopped us and asked if we were taken care of. We said no, but maybe we'll try you again some time. He insisted on getting us drinks for the road, regardless of whether or not we would return in the future. The gesture and the sincerity of his apologies,were enough for us to return to our table and make a second go of it. From then on it was on-point speedy service from the wait staff as a collective team. There was never an empty beer. The food was quite good too. I wanted to give this place a five star but I just couldn't do it and it's Management's fault. We came for jeepin the coast and visited early on Thursday night. After waiting for our server who was very busy but precious, we were then told half the items we wanted on the menu weren't available because of the event. This poor server had to go to each table and tell them each repeatedly what all they could NOT order instead of management having a special menu printed for people to know. I choose my restaurants based on their menu and we chose this restaurant specifically for certain items on the menu only to be told once we got in and got seated that we couldn't order what we wanted. Had we not already ordered drinks and waited quite a bit we would have moved on. Once again, this is on management and this is a major event that they should have been prepared for.
