IHOP — Restaurant in Baytown

Food was great. Never a complaint in that. Too bad the wait staff sucks and fails to reflect the level of flavor the cooks provide.

3 waitresses, 5 tables, and our drinks were empty for 15 minutes. Tried to get our waitress's attention, got ignored. Order came back incomplete, got told that the extra I requested on my meal was there when I told her it was missing, although I'd had this dish multiple times.

Spoke with the manager. He was great, but kept her at our table. She then comes back and starts arguing with me about how it wasn't her fault the order was incomplete. Showed me the order receipt that she'd put in, telling me it wasn't her fault. That she would believe the cook over me.

Then before we left, husband asked another waitress for a to-go box because there were no other staff visible, and she's got an attitude as well, snapping in a very short, rude voice that he would have to wait until she was done with her table because we weren't her table. She followed up pleasantly enough to bring us the check, but her previous attitude spoiled any attempt to make up for it.

Talked to Manager again, mention that she too was curt and rude. She literally stalks off angrily, telling the manager to deal with us. I mean, who was the boss in that situation?

He seemed well meaning, but the staff was unprofessional, rude, curt, and argumentative. Totally ruined our...

Let me tell you about my horrible experience at the Ihop on Garth. I had gone with my two kids. They were really excited to go to Ihop. To start off It took ten minutes for a host to even acknowledge us. Then we were rudely lead to our seats. (The host slammed the menus harshly on the table and just left) I was a little put off but I understand that they could’ve maybe been having a busy day. However we sat there for around 40 minutes and during that whole time a server never even asked for our drink orders! However the most frustrating part was that other people that came after us were getting served before us. I’m not sure if they assumed we weren’t going to tip or something. So finally after those 40 minutes we decided to leave and just go get food from around the corner. It was way faster there and the customer service was amazing! The people were friendly and immediately greeted us. In Ihop I felt very humiliating to simply be ignored like that. It also felt like we were being discriminated because I was a single Mexican mother with 2 kids. I am highly disappointed in this Ihop and I will not be returning. Lastly I would like to thank the Ihop hosts and servers for making this experience horrible for my me and my little kids. I would suggest that if you have a family and don’t feel like being discriminated against to NOT go to the Ihop...

Okay I hadnt been here in a while ...a long while actually because service was horrible...but somehow they turned it around...they remodeled a bit and service got better....I guess I'll put this IHOP back in rotation.

UPDATE: Well its hard to teach an old dog new tricks...three weeks later went back...got seated and waitress never came to our table to wait on us. The waitress looked at us at one point and then just turned away...after the hostess noticed we hadnt been served after about 15 minutes , she did the right thing and went and told the waitress...u think she came over...nope...now about 20 minutes in,another man came in and sat next to us, his waitress came in like 3 minutes...we asked her for our waitress and then SHE went and told our waitress...youre thinking that fixed it right...NOPE.. she sent the other waitress back out to get our drinks....we just got up and left, but not before speaking with to the stores GM.. The hostess was standing there when I spoke to the GM and basically confirmed what I was saying...hoping everyone reads this post because you can renovate your building and make it look better and cook good food but if your service sucks people will eventually stop coming as we certainly have. To the GM...u know whic waiter it was, hopefully you addressed it with her...if...
