PLEASE READ THE REVIEW AND NOT LET MY STAR RATING BE INDICATIVE OF THIS TRH!!!
I'm back "home" probably not more than 30 minutes after leaving this place.
I'm going to start off by getting all of my gripes out of the way. Predominantly due to management. So I came in about noon. All of the staff were super nice and professional. Even with what I thought was management personnel that I dealt with up front and personal.
I like to share the wealth when I'm out eating. There was a gentleman, that began talking to me for quite a while, and I bought him probably 4 or 5 beers.
Shortly after his departure, there was a married couple that came in. I bought them a couple rounds.
I had a few rounds myself, and upon ordering my meal, and a to go appetizer for friends back in the truck stop, with a tab in excess of $225, my excellent perfect absolutely fantastic bartender told me that I would no longer be served because management saw my bar tab. Bro, I've drank more at a kindergarten Christmas song recital, seriously.
30% OF MY BILL WERE FOR DRINKS FOR OTHER PEOPLE.
YOUR MANAGER, IS OBVIOUSLY A HARDCORE LIBERAL LEFT-WING NUT JOB, STRAIGHT FROM THE HEART OF HOUSTON, AND FOR THAT I AM SORRY.
It's okay though. I took my Uber back to where I was parked, and about to drop $150 more at a nearby bar, and guess what, STILL BUYING DRINKS FOR OTHER PEOPLE.
Now that the liberal dictation is out of the way, let's get to my experience.
My bartender was Ashley. She was so nice and super attentive and heed to my every beck and call, which wasn't much. Gave me exactly what I asked for! The whole time.
I really wanted catfish, because a lot of these places that aren't in Texas, don't have catfish. If you go to a TRH that's NOT in Texas, it's going to be straight ass. I wanted a steak, but I also wanted catfish, so Ashley was able to get me a catfish à la carte, with the steak and rib combo that I wanted. They gave me a sweet potato with marshmallows, that I've never ever seen in my life at any other trh all over the country. I have some corn, oh and I had fried pickles as an appetizer.
The food was OFF.THE.HOOK. JUST LIKE A REAL TEXAS ROADHOUSE, NOT THE FRANCHISES ACROSS THE COUNTRY THAT TREAT IT LIKE A DENNY'S!!
I come here pretty often, I'll never go to saltgrass again because that place is just ass, but I am really really really irritated that this manager cut me off, because without doing his research and coming to talk to me and just looking at my bar tab, had already assumed that I had drank enough cocktails and beers too tranquilize a small baby elephant.
But that is a typical liberal for you. Being a multiple business owner myself, a word of caution to the owner of this particular franchise, you might want to reevaluate your staff. If management is directing the front liners to treat customers the way they are, then your frontliners can't be being treated very well themselves.
I say send him packing, back to IHOP in Houston where he belongs.
Thank you Texas roadhouse! My experience outside of prior to my departure was outstanding, and the food was exactly and better than what I was expecting!!
And thank you Ashley!
I don't really care that I was cut off, but you should probably get a manager that knows the service industry a little bit better, outside of a Denny's or IHOP. You guys still had money to make, but chose to be snarky from some clown flipping through a handbook given to him...
Read moreFood was good. Everything we ordered was commonplace, so you could pretty much get it anywhere else, but the baked sweet potato was a good seller and the blooming onion (which had already been devoured 😅) The chicken however, was delectably moist! Even though every place should strive to cook chicken perfectly, sad that has to be said, the cooks here at Roadhouse did it right, I'm so proud! I usually avoid chicken at any non-fast food restaurant because everyone seems to dry it out 😑
Service was NOT on par though. They weren't even that busy, but 2 different people forgot THREE times to bring us more bread after we asked them & they asked us. Also, our server Jaden was annoying. It felt like he was trying to rush us (maybe his shift was about to end?), but it ruined my meal. Once our entrees arrived, I think he hounded us 3-4 times about considering their gift card options. We weren't even HALFWAY through eating. My roommate finished before me because he gets fuller faster, so i was still enjoying my food when Jaden kept trying to talk to us, even though he forgot our bread twice 😒 my roommate and I had a rough week and we both definitely wanted to enjoy a little comfort food, since I'm the only one who knows how to cook at home ☠ but Jaden's incessant interruptions just gave me anxiety and made me feel on edge.
Hmmm, everyone we saw on the waitstaff seemed fairly young (20-35), and idk who the woman was that asked about our meal. Maybe the floor manager or a trainee? 🤷♀️ she seemed too dressed down & more casual than anyone else; tbh she looked like a busser. Point being, not trying to sound ageist but this was ONE experience were everyone seemed inexperienced and inadequate in regards to hospitality. Although, I think the "ageist" concept came up because i told my roommate, "they probably thought we were just a couple of kids so they didnt take us seriously. I hate when people do that to us. As a woman, I read too much into everything, so I try not to entertain every wild thought. . .but, that's probably what happened."
my roommate and are 32 and 34. And we both look 14 bcuz we're 4'11 and 5'2, both at 110lbs, and our faces look REALLY young. He dresses in sweats constantly and that day I was layered in jackets and a mask because of severe sinus allergies, and my hairbun was sloppy/wild (which roommate didnt tell me about and I didnt noticed until we got home 😑)
And like I said, It's a thought that never comes to mind because I know my age, but some situations remind me of what other people see when I'm out in public, and im disheartened by how extremely unprofessional some people are when they assume at a glance and then proceed to disregard you.
I should've insisted we'd eaten at the location in Friendswood; chances are service wouldve been better there because of the demographic, and I dont normally say that.
Overall, food is good, but the service definitely ruins the appetite. I wouldnt risk coming...
Read moreThis has been my go-to location for the longest time, but last night, road house earned its first strike. Upon arrival, we were seated pretty promptly. Our waitress walks up and begins to take our drink orders. We all asked for water and margaritas. 20 minutes later, we get 4 glasses of water and 7 margaritas. We just blew it off. And figured maybe she didn't hear us. She proceeded to write all our meals down. She leaves and doesn't return for 20 minutes. Walks up and says "still no food" and walks away again. Doesn't bother to offer or ask if we want refills. 10 minutes later, the food arrives. We get 2 whole different plates. Asked for 2 grilled chicken and ribs and we get a steak and shrimp and a thrown together dish. Even then, we were okay with it. Told her not to worry we will take them. Cut the steak and it was just shy of medium well, and I couldn't bring myself to eat it. So, we attempt to wave her down for 5 minutes. Finally get her back over to the table and let her know the issue. She states I will put your correct order in "on the fly" so it's out pretty fast. 30 minutes later, everyone is done eating and still no meal. At this point I just cancel my meal and ask for the check. Once again, she disappears for another 20 minutes and still no check. At this point, I'm over it and wave down a hostess and very politely ask for the manager. Amanda, the manager comes to the table full of attitude and was no help. We weren't asking for comps or anything other then the screwed up meal that we never received to be removed from the ticket. She states I already corrected your check; she the "waitress" should of already brought it to you. She walks away, saying I will get your checks. never once did she offer an apology or asked for input. She brings the checks over and not a single "Goodnight, sorry or anything," just turns around and leaves. For now, we will be staying away until Amanda is no...
