HORRIBLE CAKES!!! I ordered a cake 12/21/2017 for pick up date 12/24/2017 for my daughters 1st birthday. It was a raindeer cake inside chocolate and buttercream icing. My daughters birthday was Christmas Eve and her party was within the few hours from picking up cake. When I got to the truck I noticed the nose on the cake was falling off and the deers ears were falling off of cake. I went back to the bakery area every ones seemed busy helping customers so no one seemed to pay me mind because I was standing there with there box of cake so they knew I was going to say something about the cake and customers were all around so I'm sure they didn't want to hear my problem with the cake. #1 customer service to me was not good. They looked at me standing there and didn't ask if I needed help after I got the cake. #2 the cake was falling apart and when we cut it to serve the guest at party they said it was not good. I tasted my self the cake was suppose to be chocolate and was black inside.Black. chocolate cake is brown or maybe dark brown but not BLACK!. The icing was so hard. The cake had no flavor.Taste as if it had no sugar. I was so upset my guest didn't like the cake. I ended up having to bake one for my daughters party. So that meant my guest had to wait until it was baked. Never again will I order any cake from there bakery. Overall I love the store it's very clean and big just DO NOT LIKE THERE CAKES! Read moreOK, so here we go. Hey baby boomers and everybody remember the old mom and pop grocery store! They had a little bit everything in a small but tidy store; well HEB has a lot of everything in a big store. From pharmacy to pet food and beyond. It's there. Employees are very helpful and often walk you to the item that you can't find. For you retirees and those that are disabled they recognize you and always are helpful and ask if you need help to take your groceries to your car. I'm disabled due to a stroke and I always find a buggy charged and ready to go! Rarely do i have a problem finding one. So, pros... you get your exercise because it's very spacious... can find almost everything.... great inport finds... hey amigos they have brands galore of fideo!!... for that sopa...a big assortment of produce and salads.... and lots of meats and frozen sections... HUGE parking lot. ... of. .a great delacatesion!! ... oh... deserts galore ... and those great quick dinners. CONS..... it seems to be cold sometimes. Well folks that's about it. Read moreOrdered a tres leches cake 4/29/24, explained to them I wanted “happy birthday Shawn” on it. They asked me to spell the name and what color to write it in so it can be ready for pick up on 4/30/24. The next day I sent my husband to pick up the cake and he came home with nothing written on it.(he didn’t know what was supposed to be written because it was a surprise for his birthday) I called the store so they could know they didn’t properly meet our expectations only for the employee to tell me that they don’t prepare cakes all the way so that if people don’t pick them up they can sell them. Which is fine from a business point of view but as a customer it just lets me know NOT to go to a chain and to find an actual baker who cares about their customers. She then tells me that they don’t take orders to write things on the cake until you actually pick it up but if that was the case then why ask before? And why not set that proper expectation by communicating that so we can make sure to bring it up when we pick it up? It definitely seemed like they were coming up with excuses instead of taking accountability so I’ll just make sure to send my people to a different bakery and to cancel all future orders for...
