I've been going to BD's for a long time. Probably 7 years now. The price has increased quite a bit. I am going to reduce by a couple of stars. I can understand the cooks need to make some racket back there to keep themselves sane. For a long time they kept beat-boxing stupid rap songs (I hate rap.) and were really loud about it. It is a little disruptive when you're trying to dine. Things have been removed from the menu. They used to be able to cook your food in (UPON REQUEST/ON MENU) margarine, that item has been removed. Some other things removed are bean sprouts, and they have drastically reduced the size and quality of the shrimp. Upon this last visit, when we walked in the first thing that they asked was "We're going to sit you outside, OK?" A minor infraction in my book it was off putting and not welcoming. You might want to word that differently. I did not want to dine outside on this visit. As I have written on other reviews, I am not much for fine dining, and high end taste. I find that they usually use too many spices and too much "Gahhlic" as I put it. When you order appetisers and fried rice, you should tell them to take it easy on the Garlic. There was a punishing amount of garlic in our appetisers and fried rice. The staff is friendly, The waitress was a little scatterbrained on this experience, I did not reduce her tip, she was tipped handsomely. Everybody has bad days, maybe she wasn't having the best day. I did visit the Restroom, as usual it was well stocked, and very clean as you would expect. I will mention that the volume of the music in the men's room is just too loud. Most bathrooms are like a swimming pool encased in tile. The music naturally reverberates, and it doesn't need a lot of volume to fill that space. On a positive note, I have always loved the layout and atmosphere of BD's this experience no different. Its a great place for lunch your meal is ready in minutes, even when they are busy it still isn't too bad. The food is excellent. I also love the coke freestyle machine and want one just for myself. Thank you for reading and I wish you a pleasant...
Read moreMy family and I went here for Mother’s Day. We called ahead to get a reservation to ensure we could get seated. Once we were released to get our food, we made our way to the food area and then the grill. My father is a 70 years old, African American with congestive heart failure. He got confused on how to line up to get his food cooked. When the employee, Carson, realized this, he went up to my father and said he had to move as others were assigned to that spot. My father, still confused said he was with my mother. Carson started screaming and telling him he had to move. He picked up my father’s food off the counter and walked away. My dad went to follow him and Carson continued screaming that my father had been in the wrong area. My father then stood where he thought he needed to be based on where Carson set his food down. Carson kept telling my father to move two steps over several times. My mother and father both asked why Carson was screaming. Carson began screaming at my mother as well. We asked for a manager and Carson said he was the manager. My brother-in-law said he would wait for my father’s food so he didn’t have to continue getting screamed at. We ate, paid, and saw a manager as we were walking out. We explained the situation and how it really dampened our Mother’s Day dinner. My dad is 70 years old and got confused. It upset my dad so much to get screamed at that he was shaking. Did Carson feel my dad was an easy target because he was black, older, or both? The General Manger we spoke to, Cody Bryant, stated Carson had “good intentions” and it was just loud in that area. I explained everyone knows when they’d re being screamed at. The GM Cody Bryant then quick talking, turned away, and asked another lady how he could help her. He left us standing there, no resolution. We asked for a number we could call and express concern. He said there was no number to call. What a sad, terrible experience. We will not be back. Members of our group had driven over an hour...
Read moreIt's been awhile since we've been to one of these and it may be our last time here. The food was excellent. Just going to get that out of the way. The cooks were funny with their little song bursts and the food prep and presentation were on point. My lowered rating came from two incidents while arriving and then leaving. When we arrived a patron was at the counter and had chosen not to pay at their table, I didn't hear any of the conversation so I have no clue why. This was the beginning of the first incident. A staff member approached the person as if to seat them then realized they were attempting to pay leading to a conversation between them two. That staff member then left. To me if you were coming to seat them then realized they needed something else is being next in line, it reasoned, try to seat us, but no. A short time later another staff member approached and took care of their needs but again no word to us. When someone did finally approach another staff member seemed to want to be there and done coded conversation ensued with some either disagreement or guided suggestion as to where to seat us. Whatever but it felt odd and forced. Initially our servers were cordial and with one obviously in training overtly attentive. This didn't interrupt our meal too badly and truthfully was expected with a trainee. I was feeling full and happy with my meal and up to this point the everything after being seated had been wonderful. As we were gathering our boxes the completed transaction arrived, I signed their copy and literally handed the pen and copy to the server but as we were walking out on the street they chased us down asking about the signed check. To which I had to remind them that not more than a minute earlier I had placed in their hand. Being ignored upon entering and chased down for no reason soured everything good about...
