Atmosphere and staff were very attentive and the decor of the restaurant was unique with a Tex-Mex feel. The Tortilla Soup I had was excellent!! Nice flavor and I appreciated the touch of avocado with the soup. Absolutely a great appetizer for a meal. The main dish (shown) is their Chimichangas entree. I want to give this review of the entree with a grain of salt. I've had many chimichangas from various Mexican styled restaurants in the past. My critique of this version is not a put down, but it is just a general thought as to how it compares with other dishes like it. It could be that this version of the dish is as authentic as if you were getting it from Texas or anywhere else in the Southwest. Too often northerners like me tend to eat a dish from our region and think that that's the way it's supposed to be. It could be that the chimichangas that I've had in the past are not even close to how it's prepared in the Southwest. Judging this dish, I think I would of like to had a little bit more flavor to the meat and the ingredients inside. Plus, it tasted heavier a dish than I am used to. The chips and dips that we were offered at the table were some of the lightest and tastiest I've had at any Mexican restaurant. It was a nice change of pace not to have chips that were heavily salted. Plus the sauces were flavorful and uniquely fresh with the right amount of heat. Overall, I really enjoyed my time at Chuy's! Regardless of my main meal critique, I thought everything else-- decor, atmosphere, etc.--- was incredible. I will make sure to return to try other entrees on the menu. I forgot to mention the service of the staff was incredible too! It was nice to see how when our server needed assistance then another person was able to step in. Very nice to see that kind of teamwork shown during one of the busier nights of the week.

For some strange reason, I have been fighting going to this restaurant.. so specific reason, just something inside me told me I wouldn't like the place or the food. Mind you, I have been to Albuquerque many a time and absolutely LOVE the food and have always wished I could find a place here that had the same. What a mistake in not adventuring to Chewys... I love this place! First off, the staff was super helpful in guiding me through the menu. Secondly, I could not decide that sauce would match the one I loved so much in NM.... so I ordered all 9 of them ;) I could go one but really it would be all about me and my personal preference... let me just say, if you like the type of food that comes from the NM area, and those that know... know you cant get it anywhere else.. This place will take you there :) I was a bland, mid western Burger, and fry guy till my friend out West introduced me to this wonderful world. If you don't think you will like a little spice in your life, try this ;) you won't be disappointed:)

I eat SIX bowls of Tortilla Chicken Soup, every week. The service I get is ALWAYS outstanding.! I either do pickup or curbside. Everyone is great & my favorite is Sohndi. Only thing I can say to make it better is: consistency. Sometimes there's no cheese, sometimes there's no corn. A cup gets one tortilla, a bowl is supposed to get two. Sometimes I don't have all my tortillas. But, sometimes I have MORE, so it all evens out. They're literally the yummiest part. They're so fresh and perfect, every single time.! I've NEVER had a bad bowl.! Its always very tasty and did you know, its got 44gm of protein per bowl.! I've been on this kick for a whole year, this month (December.) I'm not tired of it, yet.! I appreciate every person that's helped me with my soup orders. Good stuff.!!!

I think they’ve earned a solid 4/5 for their awesome nachos because they have been nothing but extremely satisfying. Especially if you order a side of Queso to really take them to the next level. Now they don’t just give you a pile of chips. Instead, it comes with extra large tortilla chips that have each been completely loaded with all the toppings. One is about the size of your hand. When you take a bite, you’ll get to enjoy all the toppings and flavors. And they don’t fall apart because the melted shredded cheese seems to hold it together.

But personally, other parts of this restaurant failed me. First, the cheese enchiladas are inconsistent. On my first trip they were brought out hot and gooey. But on my second visit, the cheese inside was barely melted. Also, these enchiladas are automatically made with corn tortillas. So if you want flour instead you have to request it.

Also, on my first visit I asked if they served tamales because I was craving them. The waitress assured me they did and took my order. But what arrived at the table was a Chile relano. I mentioned my confused and the waitress apologized explaining that was the closest they had to tamales. What??? Very strange. I ate it anyway and it was fine. Just not what I was wanting.

However, my husbands’ one true love is Tex Mex and this is the best he’s ever found outside of TX. He just loves their fajitas. And I have to say I enjoy them to. They make they tortillas fresh and you can taste it.

The manager here is super nice and welcoming. He checked in us and my husband really enjoyed the TX banter. Service is mostly pretty good but does slow down when they’re busy.

I know we will return again soon. I think I’ll stick to the nachos and skip the enchiladas. Maybe they have flautas...

Went tonight to celebrate my birthday and had a pretty terrible experience. I was a server for 15 years so I’m pretty understanding and patient but our server must have been having a really rough night. Drink refills only happened when we chased her down. She never rang my husbands food in and never apologized or really said anything other than “your food is coming” after she came back out and asked him to repeat his order. By the time she finally came out to say it was ready in “2minutes” my kids and I had finished eating. We had plans after dinner we had to get to so I asked her to box it up and to bring the check, and that we weren’t paying for his food (which she seemed very confused about). 5 minutes later she brings the food on a plate. We tell her again to box it up. Another 5 minutes and she brings the box...no check. 10minutes go by, no check. I finally get up to find a manager....the hostess and manager were wonderful. I told the manager our situation and he took care of our entire check. When I went around the corner to show him what table we were at...she still had not brought it. My birthday dinner was a flop and we were late and missed our plans we had after. We purposely went to dinner extra early so we wouldn’t have to rush. The manager was really great though. Hopefully our server has a better night but some people just aren’t cut out for the job and I think she should maybe try something else...she seemed so confused by everything, looked really disheveled, and never once apologized or told...
