I travel a good portion of the year on business and have dined at thousands of restaurants so feel I can write a fair and unbiased review. In my younger years I also was a food safety lead in a large food production facility. I cannot recommend anyone to eat at the Beavercreek Ohio Dibella's location after what my family and I witnessed today. I will first say that the long haired gentleman who took our order has been pleasant, attentive, and respectful both times we have frequented this location. He handed us a ticket to take to the register only for another gentleman at the register to make us repeat the entire order for him to ring it in. Not sure why there isn't communication between the employees or some type of automated system, but not the end of the world.
The primary frustration came when we watched a third worker bring a ladder directly between the food prep area and grill, pull out a ceiling tile, and start cleaning out dirt and debris out of the ceiling directly over this area. I voiced my concerns and a female came out of the back who I can only assume is the manager. She could not wrap her head around why this was not acceptable. She stated that they clean them "two or three times a week" I assume insinuating not much debris could have fallen out. Horrendous logic. She did offer to clean the area and remake the food, but still could not understand that debris could have and likely did fall into the condiments, vegetables, etc as all the lids to them were open within a few feet of the ladder. The fact she was so complacent in this being acceptable really makes me wonder with this happening in front of customers what is happening when customers are not present? She kept asking me questions and when I responded she states, "I'm not going to argue with you sir." We had not received our food yet so I just wanted a refund and to leave. Simple as that. Did not want to argue or debate anyone once I realized she didn't see the problem in it. As my family was getting up to leave she snottily says, "Are you sure you don't still want the kids meals? I don't want your kids to go hungry." As if there aren't hundreds of other restaurants in the area for me to take them to. She had to get that little jab in instead of just letting us go on our way. Will never go back here and health department has...
Read moreMy daughters and I used to go to Dibella’s weekly when we lived near it up until a year ago. It was our favorite place. We were in the area the other night so decided to stop by.
First, it was completely empty at dinner time which is not how it was the last time we went. Also, I really don’t like that you order at the register now. Not nearly as welcoming as it used to be.
The shift manager took our order and he was friendly. He even recommended a way for us to save some money. That was good because the prices seem to have gone up quite a bit. I paid for our order and was ok with the high price because the sandwiches used to be sooo good and piled with toppings.
Not anymore. We got flat pathetic looking subs on bread that was not fresh. The meat portion was good, but there were barely any veggies. I had ordered a bunch of different veggies on my sub and thought they gave me the wrong one because I didn’t see any when I unwrapped it. I actually chuckled when I opened the sub up and saw four or five little slivers of onion on my 7” sub and barely any lettuce. It was one of the worst subs I’ve ever had and we all were so disappointed. We even started googling other sub shops in Dayton while at the table to see where we could go to find a new sub shop for next time.
On the way out I hit the restroom and it was filthy. It looked like it had not been cleaned in awhile.
Overall, I’m really bummed it went downhill. Used to be our...
Read moreIt was chaos tonight! Understaffed, confused, overwhelmed, not following a good process. They've been understaffed since the pandemic, and it all fell apart tonight. Ordered on the app at 6:18 pm, with an estimate of 6:41 for order puck up. Got there at 6:35. But order wasn't ready until 7:00. I was standing around with 6-7 others, and most of them said they'd been waiting 30 or 40 minutes after ordering. One guy said he'd been waiting 50 minutes! Meanwhile, one of the women who walked in to order got hers in 5 minutes (I asked her about it)! What the heck was going on!!! I told the manager his processes were broken and he was understaffed. The only reason I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 is because the order was correct and the food was tasty. All I can say is Chic-Fil-A doesn't have problems like this, because they know their processes and they follow them!
Update September 2, 2021: I've gone back there several times since then and the service has improved dramatically. Looks like they took positive steps to improve the customer experience. Good job! Raising my rating from 2...
