Food is delicious but suggest donāt come to this place when hungry, itās a solution only when you have a lot of time and donāt mind to wait(they only have less than 10 tables, and donāt support reservation service).
Itās a hard day but not too bad:
My husband and I drove 7hrs to Portland and arrived hotel at 20:00, tired and hungry, found this restaurant is open to 00:00 so we drove to this restaurant immediately, we arrived there around 20:30 and spent $7 to park our car for didnāt find any free parking lots nearby.
After entered this restaurant, although we saw there is a 2-person table is available but weāre told they canāt serve any new clients for thereāre too many people to serve before they close, and after checking if the restaurant is closed at 9:00 rather than 00:00, the waitress told us they didnāt close yet, she said cannot receipt new clients is because new clients have to wait more than 1.5hrs, if we wish she could add us in the waitlist, I have to say yes because there arenāt many choices during that time and weāre unfamiliar with this city, when I walked out to my car, I felt so bad and thought we should be mentally prepared for having nothing to eat tonight, but suddenly I realized perhaps can try to ask how long it would take for takeout, and the answer is 40mins, we are happy and decide to takeout as it can save a lot of time. Luckily, we got the food ready after 20mins, kinda wasted the parking fee, but weāre still very happy for having food successfully and avoided endless waiting, and the food is good tasting.
Generally, the whole process is too complicated for a person who wants to have some nice food quickly and go back home, go to this restaurant definitely needs you have time and good luck.
Food price is fair enough for such good taste drink menu is kinda expensive but this place is actually a small bistro so itās...
Ā Ā Ā Read more1st Street Pocha, in my opinion, is a little hole-in-the-wall local spot that serves Korean street food-inspired dishes. Iāve brought numerous friends here, and they all have left with wonderful first impressions of the food. The service is always amazing every time I visit. The servers are friendly and kind. The food is usually consistent and rarely disappointing! My go-to order is the rose tteokbokki with ramen, corn cheese, and 10-piece soy truffle garlic wings. Iāve tried other items on their menu as well, but nothing tops these three for me. While Iāve only tried a handful of places that serve rose tteokbokki, this spot is my favorite. Thereās something about the sauceāitās a little sweet, a little savory, and a little spicy, which brings everything together perfectly! The corn cheese is simple but delicious, and sometimes I mix it with the rose tteokbokki sauce for extra flavor. When I first started going to 1st Street Pocha, they didnāt have truffle soy garlic wings, but when they added them to the menu, it caught my eye. Although the minimum order is 10 pieces, I believe every piece is worth it. The truffle soy garlic wings are packed with warmth, crispiness, and flavor. One thing to note is that they have limited seating inside; they have a handful of tables that can fit 2 or more people and a handful of tables that can fit 4 or more people. I love how theyāre open pretty late as itās pretty hard to find a place that offers good food and opens late...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBest tteokbokki Iāve had, and Iāve tried a lot. Iāve never been able to find tteokbokki made the way I like it (they all tend to taste just like watery gochujang). I tried the truffle fries and the rose tteokbokki, and they were both very flavorful and well-seasoned. The rice cakes in the rose tteokbokki were fresh and chewy, and the bacon and sausage were delicious and a nice touch. The sauce was a good consistencyānot too thick or watery. It had a slight smokiness from the meats. I personally love a bunch of green onion in my tteokbokki, so I would have loved more, but they gave a decent amount. The amount given for the price was fair; it was quite filling, even though I always eat a lot. The truffle fries are delicious as well; they have a great texture (crispy outside and fluffy inside) and are seasoned well. They come out VERY hot! I also appreciate that they give small metal dishes along with the food so you can portion it out to share or cool down. The atmosphere is casual and cozy, though it can feel a bit cramped since it is small and often busy. Expect to wait outside for a table to open up. They play K-pop music. I really like that they are open late. I will definitely come back here again. Looking forward to trying the bossam sometime. Never had it before, but it looks yummy. I came back a second time the following day for the rose tteokbokki again, and the waitress...
