La Floridita PDX is a standout coffee shop in Beaverton, Oregon, and it’s clear why it’s become a local favorite. From the moment I stepped inside, I was struck by the warm, inviting atmosphere. The space is filled with natural light and lined with bookshelves, creating a cozy vibe that encourages you to slow down and enjoy the moment. It’s the kind of place where you can easily lose track of time, whether you’re catching up with a friend, reading, or getting some work done. The star of the show, of course, is the coffee. I ordered their iced Bombon, and it was exceptional—smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced, with just the right amount of sweetness. The care and expertise that go into each cup are evident, and it’s no surprise given the owners’ dedication to bringing authentic Cuban and Colombian flavors to the Pacific Northwest. Another practical perk is the convenient street parking right outside, making it easy to stop by for a quick visit or stay awhile. The owner is incredibly welcoming, and their passion for their craft shines through in every detail. La Floridita PDX is more than just a coffee shop—it’s a thoughtfully curated experience that celebrates culture, community, and great coffee. Whether you’re a coffee enthusiast or just looking for a relaxing spot to unwind, this place is well...
Read moreLa Floridita was at one of my favourite places, Tea Bar, selling croquetas and pastelitos that I couldn't help but try! The two people serving these treats were super friendly, warm, and helpful. I got a sampler of a few things, and I would especially highly recommend the marionberry and cream cheese pastry, as well as the spinach croqueta! Everything I tried was jam-packed with flavors that complement each other. I live far from the Beaverton Farmer's Market, but just for more croquetas, I may have to stop by... I want more!
Update: I finally went to the physical location in central Beaverton with a friend and it was a really cool place! The croquetas are just as delicious as they were a year ago, and they have a ton of pastries to offer. The interior of the restaurant was very cute and modern. Service was a bit snobbish and on the slow side, but still efficient and helpful enough. I did get sensory overload because the café got pretty loud at times, but I did go during a weekend. I'd still come back to get more goodies. I love the Cuban coffee and it's a very...
Read moreThe coffee itself is very good.
It was not clear what the cup sizes available were, because the cup sizes are not clearly listed on the menu, but that's okay.
One thing I'd ask is they please ditch the paper straws. They suck (pun intended). There's no point in giving me a plastic cup for an iced coffee and then giving me a crummy paper straw to drink it with. We all hate single use plastics, but paper straws are no bueno.
Regarding the food, the food is very good, and seems like authentic Florida/Cuban type food, but it certainly is heavy: fried foods or sweets. A nice treat on occasion but not something I could eat regularly.
All in all, I'd recommend everyone try their coffee and...
