This was my first and last visit to Karvers. I had never been there so I was hoping for some customer service. I walked in and was not greeted by anyone. I had to holler out to one of them that I had never been there before and I wanted to order a Cuban sandwich. Having worked in customer service my whole life, I was expecting him to walk over, say hello, ask if I had any questions, take my name for the order, give me a wait time, anything other than just charging me and turning his back on me.
Not to mention, the screen for paying was so dirty it look like it had not been cleaned in a week! Along with that, one of the employees had her mask down below her nose. The manager or owner was standing right there so I thought he say something but, he didn't. Just like he never greeted me or bother to ask me any questions about my experience or if I had any questions myself.
So, on top of the customer service being bad, the covid safety procedures being disregarded and the worst part, it was the most awful Cuban sandwich I've ever had in my life! I couldn't even eat it! I spent $13.50 (because, yes I tipped), to buy a sandwich that I can't eat. The ham was some of the cheapest ham I've ever seen in my life and the rest of the meat was so salty I couldn't eat it. ALL I could taste was salt!
Horrible customer service, horrible product and horrible covid 19 precautions... I didn't realize what I was getting myself into. Thought I was just grabbing lunch. Such an awful experience. And I'm still hungry.
I don't know how this place has stayed in business. People must have lost their taste buds and expectation for any...
Read moreKarver is amazing. Simple, fresh, local ingredients, artfully and thoughtfully put together in a super cool, hip, and clean atmosphere. Great music, great service, great beer, wine, too. The menu is simple but lots of options to make your meal how you like it with reasonably charged adders. Mostly sandwiches on various fresh breads and gluten free options, too. Fresh cut meats and vegan options. The beet and goat cheese sandwich is one of my favorites. Avocado toast with delicious varying toppings like tomato, cheese, etc... But, my favorite is the “Not your mom’s Bologna Sandwich” - thin sliced bologna fried hot with sautéed onions and cheese - it is truly sublime. The Cuban is my 2nd favorite which ties with my go to BLT. You can add 2 fried eggs to the BLT for $2. I had the BLT today with green apple slaw which was tart and wonderful. Great with the salty sweet (maple bacon) BLT. Accompany all this with a hand scooped Tillamook ice cream milkshake in many flavors (I had Peanut Butter/Chocolate) or a homemade lemon bar, bread pudding, ginger snaps to finish off your meal and you’ve had a perfect Karver experience. Don’t walk - RUN to...
Read moreAfter driving past Karver several times, today we decided to stop in. I only wish we would have stopped in sooner. Everything about Karver exceeded our expectations. The customer service was fabulous. All employees were wearing face masks, gloves and sanitizing frequently. We were greeted with a warm welcome and the gentlemen at the counter answered our questions about their menu. They had a great selection of Ciders, Beers and Wine
We ordered the Smoked Tri-Tip Sandwich, Jerk Chicken Sandwich, a side of Bacon Mac and Cheese. We also decided to try the Frosè - frozen rosè slushie. They had tables outside and inside, all were at least 6 feet away from another table. Each table had a sign on it showing if the table had been sanitized or if it needed to be cleaned. We decided to sit inside.
We waited about 10 minutes for our food. Everything was delicious. The Bacon Mac and Cheese & Frosè were definitely the stand out items.
This is definitely going to be one of our new go-to spots. I'm excited to try out more items...
