Portland All-You-Can-Eat Korean BBQ - K Town

Have you ever had to agree to a Terms of Service when eating at a restaurant? You will when you have the AYCE here. Main difference between this restaurant and other establishments is that you MUST order 4 DIFFERENT meats per order. You cannot make an order with 3 or fewer types of meat. So if you're getting to the end of your meal, feeling full, and want to make another order, but too full to order 4 meats then you're SOL. It's like they want you to order more than you can eat so they can charge you for the leftovers. Otherwise you leave less than full. What if you're the type who loves Kalbi Rib (or any other type of meat) and want to make multiple orders of the same meat? Well you're SOL too. You'll need to include Kalbi Rib (or whatever meat you actually want) and then add 3 other different meats that you DO NOT want. Of course you can add Kalbi Rib (or whatever your desired meat) to your subsequent orders, but you can only have 1 order of your desired meat. You must combo your order with 3 other types of meat that you do not want. What if you have a larger party and you need to order multiple of Kalbi Rib (or whatever your desired meat) so that each person in your party has enough? Nope, you can't. Again, you are required to order 4 DIFFERENT types of meat. During my visit I was half way through my meal and I had already tried the other types of meat that I wanted to try. For my next order I wanted to have multiple orders of brisket in a single order. Nope, not allowed. The servers were polite and directed me to order from the a la carte menu, which priced a plate of brisket near the same amount as the AYCE. I mentioned the price to the server and they sheepishly laughed. Of course it does not make sense to order from the a la carte menu half way through the AYCE meal. They agreed the rule didn't make sense and stated it was the owner who made the rules. So what's the point of having AYCE if you can't have what you want? They had no answer. For a KBBQ that lets you order what you want, I recommend going elsewhere, like King Kong.

K-Town has been our go-to Korean BBQ spot in the Beaverton area for many years. We visit almost every one or two months, and it never disappoints. The BBQ buffet offers consistently high-quality food, and the side dishes are absolutely delicious. The no time limit policy makes it a fantastic place for family dinners or meet-ups with friends. K-Town also offers a selection of wine and snacks imported from Korea, adding a special touch to the dining experience. Conveniently located in the center of Beaverton, the restaurant has plenty of parking spaces. While the staff turnover is noticeable with each visit, one waiter with red hair stands out for his exceptional service and long tenure at K-Town. He always ensures we have a great dining experience. My kids especially love the Cheese Corn—it's a big hit! The only reason I give K-Town 4 stars instead of 5 is their pricing policy for young children. They charge half price starting at age 4, which seems unfair since my 4-year-old only eats a few bites of meat and Cheese Corn and get charge for half price. I suggest implementing a more gradual pricing increase based on age, starting at $7 and adding $2 per year. This would be a fairer approach for families with young children. Despite this, we still love K-Town and will continue to visit regularly.

Took my son out for his birthday last night. It was our first time doing Korean BBQ and were really excited for this experience. First of all, the service here is probably one of the worst dining experiences I've experienced. The waiter came up to take our order and just expected us to already know how this place ran and operated and wanted us to get our order in and over with. There was no greeting, explanation, recommendations, or asking us if we had any questions, which it was SO obvious I was confused and had many. If anything, I felt like I was being judged or a n00b for not knowing everything about Kbbq. We placed our food order before we were even asked if we wanted anything to drink, which was never. I had to ask if we could even get water. The waiter was apologetic after realizing he never offered or brought any over, but kind of tells you where the level of customer service is or how the employees/management have low expectations for guest experiences. I was also shocked to see how many employees there were working there but actually not providing any actual service?! It's like either they don't care whether or not you need more meat or if it's a strategy taught to not bring or provide more meat to the table. The vegetable game is super weak. The pineapples were super thin and not ripe, they didn't have any of the cheesy corn (which we were all excited to try). We tried multiple times to get their attention and more meat, but once we finally did, at roughly 910ish, we were told it would be our last plate of meat since last call is at 930. I think that's such an absurd rule to determine that early before the kitchen closes at 930 that we can't get atleast one more plate of meat, especially when the rule is that the meat has to be all on the grill before getting more. We also tried ordering eggs at 925 and they said the kitchen was closed........ with such a hard rule of kitchen closing at 930 and the restaurant closing at 10, that's unacceptable to close the kitchen early. The only good thing I could say was that the meat and kim chi were delicious. I definitely want to try kbbq again, but not sure if I'd give my trust to this...

I ate at 3 places of Ktown. Food and service have never let me down until today. Tuesday , Jan 31 at 3:30pm . I have a lunch with my friend at Ktown Beaverton. There are few service staff including 1 man . He was very scowling at us. I wanted to order food, I looked at him and called out but he looked at me and pretended not to listen and walked away. I waited a long time and no one came to serve my table so I saw another waitress and I called her over. But immediately the man ran over and corrected my actions with a very annoyed attitude. he said " please don't ask the staff to come to your table , thanks " . Ok , your restaurant has a rule that has a time limit when sitting at the buffet , but you said that you are not allowed to call the staff in the restaurant . And you should remember that I had to wait a long time so I politely waved to the waitress. Sorry I don't know your restaurant's law that you're not allowed to call a waiter when needed. But you can popularize that law with easy words and polite attitude but NO , you have had a very nasty attitude and intentionally shown to us. My friend was looking at the food menu and you impolitely went and took the menu from my friend hand and we were amazed by your behavior. Never in my life have I been treated like this by a waiter. I don't know if he is a manager or not because he seems to be instructing other employees to work. Me and my friend were very sad today because we are guests and paid not less than 1 cent. But we felt like he gave me free meals so he treated us like beggars to eat in his restaurant. At that time, my friend and I could only say " what's wrong with him ?" . Me and my husband do small business. We have already recommended your restaurant to many friends, year-end gatherings or birthdays, staff parties will choose Ktown. Because of the delicious food and friendly service. But this time you guys let me down. I will never refer friends here again. Especially Ktown...
