The food is always good. The atmosphere is BWW, you either favor that environment or you don't. The service can be great depending on who your server is and who is managing at the time. It can also be very poor..
The last time we had visit this location was bouncy. I waited in the lobby for over 40 minutes, only to watch 3 separate parties that came after me get served and seated before me. Mind you I'm on my lunch break.. We requested a booth which was the reason the lady explained why it took so long to get us seated, as there were "none available." Thankfully a manager comes walking up and approaches me with these words, " Are you alright bro? How can I help you? Jesus, you've been waiting here for like 40 minutes!".. after I explained the situation, frustratingly nodding my head he replied, " I gotch you, there's plenty of booths available, I don't know why she told you that!" I was seated promptly.. Come to find out, the reason those booths stayed empty was because the lady who was serving in that section was running late for work and hadn't arrived yet. Instead of being professional and acting like she cares about her job, she arrives and immediately clocks in so that she could begin getting paid. But instead of being considerate and making up for lost time she decided she'd rather chit chat with the bartender yada yada yada, blah blah blah going on about her personal life, while we wait another 15 minutes to be acknowledged after already waiting 40 minutes in the lobby to be seated. On top of that her service was horrible. She was very neglectful leaving us to have to hunt her down every time we needed something.. You would think that after the first two times of hunting her down that she would click and be more attentive but no she did not. Instead she continued to chit chat with a bartender.. She was so neglectful that we could have probably walked out on our tab and she wouldn't have noticed for about an hour. Again, we had to send out a search party to pay our tab..
On another occasion I went to watch the football game. I informed her from the beginning which game I was there to see so that she could sit me in front of a corresponding TV. Although they had little tabs taped beneath each TV stating which game would be shown on that particular TV, that served untrue as a different game was being shown other than the one that was posted. I asked her kindly if she could switch the channel and she attempted to oblige, however came back with news that each TV is programmed to a certain channel and will absolutely not be switched.. and Though there are two TVs side by side showing the exact same game and they have the power to switch one of them she refused to. đ I was then left to collect all of my belongings and items, food and drink moving to another table resulting in me missing the beginning of the game. đ
On a good note, there is a black lady who works there. (I wish I remembered her name. I believe she's been there for quite a while now.) She is the best! I always forget about her until she ends up waiting on us and then I remember how great she is.. I will be sure to request her every time we attend from now on. She is the reason I didn't give a service rating of 1â and an overall rating of 2. So thank her that...
Read moreWhy is it so hard to provide decent customer service? The food was fine, the beer was good, and the place was clean, but we were told there were no happy hour menus (because they were in the process of replacing them), so we would have to guess which items were discounted. We specifically waited until 9:00 to go out so we could take advantage of BWW happy hour. Here's a novel idea; don't throw out the old menus until the new ones come in. Also, the new regular menus are garbage. They are now in a "clipboard" format, where you have to peel each page up to see the next. But it's terribly difficult to flip to the next page unless you have long fingernails to get between the edges of the pages to peel them up. Terrible idea. I ordered some buffalo fries ($7.95?) with my buffalitos, but when they arrived, there were approximately only 15 slices of potato. WHY!? IT'S POTATOES! THEY'RE CHEAP! I also ordered a beer (again, during happy hour), and they asked if I wanted a regular beer, or a tall. I ordered, and received, the regular. When I got the receipt, it said "Tall Guinness" ($7.79). When I brought this to the server's attention, they apologized, and said there is only the one size option for Guinness (regular), no tall, and this was the correct price (even though it clearly said tall Guinness on the itemized receipt). We also ordered the ultimate nachos with NO CHICKEN and, when it arrived, of course, it had chicken on it. We were not prepared to wait even longer for a replacement item, so we hastily consumed the dead bird meat. Granted, this was during the UO game against Virginia, and the place was packed, but we will not be back. I only live a few minutes away, but I'll be going to the downtown location or Tanasbourne next time. But, hey, if you're OK with gambling over Happy Hour prices, terrible menus, incorrect orders, and bait & switch beer tactics, then this is the place for you. And, please, BWW owner, do not bother apologizing and asking me to call you; I'm not interested in talking to you, or visiting your restaurant again. It's already embarrassing enough telling everyone on Google that I'm too cheap to not fret over spending $40 on happy hour snacks for two people. What you need to do is spend some time in the restaurant when it's busy, walking around and asking people how they're doing....
Read moreWow. We received a gift card for here otherwise it wouldn't have been on our food circuit. Went in with low expectations and it failed miserably at even meeting those. Arrived for lunch and there were three servers in our section and about two tables each. Service was slow and lack luster ... not rude, just disinterested. We ordered four "specialty" burgers, and sodas. Food took about 15 minutes to arrive after ordering. We all love meat and burgers and would consider Red Robin a typical expectation for a medium quality chain burger. These burgers were very salty but otherwise tasteless, meat had grizzle in it, buns were slathered in grease and fixings were limp and very thinly sliced. The burgers were $12 each and were less satisfying than a McD 1/4#er ... honestly they were less than mediocre. Fries were warm not hot and portion small. Overall the food was a D+ to C- at best. Waitress was inattentive and only returned once for drink refills and we had to go look for her in order to get our check. The gift card we had was to the "family" of restaurants in this chain and my wife had bought a drink for my daughter at Jamba juice (equally pisspoor experience) so we told the waitress that the card marked $40 had a little less than that on it. She was unable to figure out the actual balance so she tried to scan it for $40 and it rejected it so she scanned it for $30 and it accepted it, then she charged the remainder to our credit card and threw the gift card out. So our lunch cost us $65 for lousy burgers plus 15% tip for lousy service then the $5 to $7 remaining balance on the gift card she threw out. The atmosphere was lame ... were 18 to 21 year olds who wanted to watch sports and eat sysco food would go... it ranks in the worst of suburbia type low quality restaurants. 2 out of 10 because it was clean and no one got ecoli ... honestly skip it and if you, like us, end up with a gift card then regift it and go to red robin for this type of experience or Carl's jr if you only care about a decent burger. Also, as my daughter pointed out, they are Bison not Buffalo... she renamed the restaurant Misrepresented Bison Lame Wings....
