TLDR: decent pizza, amazing ranch, but overall does NOT live up to the hype or the price tag.
Finally made it in for a much-anticipated first visit after seeing a lot of hype. A+ for atmosphere, and a whole sheet of gold stars for the playlist. We were aiming for a quick lunch stop, and since the place wasn't even half full, we thought we had lucked out. Staff was friendly but the pizza took a lot longer than we anticipated, based on general pizza timing, and we had to rush through a couple slices then package it up and bounce. Pricing was a little on the high side but based on the buzz, we figured it was going to be worth it. Unfortunately, not so much. That's not to say the pizza isn't good, but pizza is also pretty hard to screw up, so good pizza can be found in many places. These are GREAT pizza prices, with AMAZING pizza hype...and it just didn't hit. We got a half and half with the #4 and the special, which was french onion dupe. The special sounded amazing, but was a flop, driven mostly by the tomato sauce overpowering everything else on it - not sure why the sauce needed to be there at all, to be honest. The #4 was tasty enough, but nothing to write home about. The dough was...fine, but when there's that much of it, a bit more flavor to the dough itself would be ideal, and it wasn't there. Excellent crispy edges, would eat again. The star of the show, ultimately, was the ranch dressing - that stuff was bomb, would definitely buy it...

We ordered a half pepperoni and half Hawaiian, and a house salad. If you haven't been to the pdx locations, this is Detroit style pizza with a couple sides of ranch dressing to dip in. The pizza was phenomenal. I preferred the pepperoni- just because it tasted better to dip. The Hawaiian is unique and has a little heat as they add shaved jalapeños on it. (Not a lot, but they are noticeable. ) My wife loved the Hawaiian. The one thing different here from most of the Detroit Pizza places I've been, is they take the pizza out of the pan, slice it, and put it on a pizza pan. I prefer this actually, my wife prefers it in the pan.
The Radicchio house salad was unique. I really wanted a ceaser, but my wife wanted something different, so this salad has a vinaigrette. We both liked it- we thought maybe a few more Cucumber and tomatoes would be a little better. No complaints though.
Overall- great food, friendly staff. They were helpful all night, and the food came out...
Read moreGlad we tried it but won't be going back. Gave the food 2 stars and service 4 stars. The lady who handed me my take-out order was very nice. Pizza was very greasy on the bottom...I dont remember the last time I got so messy eating any meal. Ordered half pepperoni and half Hawaiian. Minimal cheese on these pizzas. And the Hawaiian half had literally no cheese. I went back to their website to double check their toppings and it is supposed to have cheese. Ended up scraping the Hawaiian toppings onto the pepperoni side just to have a little cheese. Overall, this is clearly a fast food-level, deep dish, square pizza place. This was the first time I can remember ever throwing pizza away. Glad we tried it but after dropping $40 (incl tip) on this place, I'd rather go to one of the higher quality...
