Penn Station East Coast Subs — Restaurant in Bellevue

Absolutely horrible experience! First time try and while the person who took our order was friendly enough, that is where the "good" stopped.

Saturday afternoon, not all that busy, appeared properly staffed and still took over 15 minutes to get our food to go. After coming home, checked order and BOTH Philly cheesesteaks were made wrong. And honestly, it wasn't close to what I expected of a Philly cheese steak from a place named Penn Station. The meat tasted funny, not sure if it was overcooked or the seasoning (maybe not seasoned at all) but it had an aftertaste and it was not pleasant. Wrong type of bread for a philly ... soggy inside and out ... provolone cheese was melted but coagulated (how does that happen) couldn't even consider finishing it.

The fresh cut fries were decent AFTER I stuck them in the air fryer to crisp them up, they were at least edible. I understand I did not eat there and steam can make a fry uncrispy, but these were as if they weren't left in the fryer long enough ... they were mediocre at best.

Read other reviews about this location and I am not sure how they were so good because my first experience tells me NOT to return! A waste of...

THE BEST PENN STATION EVER!

I have been to Penn Station in Tennessee, Kentucky, South Carolina, Kansas and I have eaten the same sandwich every time

I get the medium Philly sandwich and medium fries and a coke. 🥪🍟🧋

This was the first time EVER that my meat on the sandwich was actually end to end on the bread. They always ask small, medium or large sandwich and until this visit I reluctantly get a bigger sandwich because it has ALWAYS been just the same amount of meat just larger bread. I have even asked in the past do i get more meat on the larger bread. “Yes, it’s by weight”

Well Friday was the first time i got more meat!! It actually filled up the bread and was plenty to eat! I wasn’t wishing for more meat. It was perfect! 🙏🏽 I didn’t even ask. It was the normal way they make it The fries nice and hot and usually and that is not an issue. They are good 👍🏼

I will visit more often when I’m in the area and it confirms my issue with ALL the other locations.

I really wanted to like this place but after trying it twice and being unimpressed idk if I’ll be back. The staff seems nice enough but while there today I felt like I had to almost shout at the person taking my order because she kept asking me to repeat myself. It took a while to order. Then while are sandwiches were being made we kept getting asked questions about our order. I assumed what they needed to know was on the ticket and was confused why I needed to repeat my order several times over. It just seemed very chaotic and like no one in the small kitchen space was communicating or paying attention. Luckily our sandwiches were made correctly despite being cut oddly. The reason I’d decided to give them a 2nd chance is because they’d offered me a free sandwich after messing up the first sandwich I’d ordered from them a month or so ago. However, they didn’t even comp the entire price of my sandwich this time around which was confusing and I felt lied to. Overall it was a bizarre experience and the dining room was really dirty. I think I’ll be sticking with Jersey Mikes. The only redeeming thing about this place...
