At approximately 5:15 my two children (6 &4) checked into the Holiday Inn at 1801 Development Blvd. Bellmead, Texas. We were to be staying in Room 202.||||At around 5:45-6:00 we went downstairs to swim in the pool. When we arrived in the pool another mother and her two children were in the pool area (8&2). The older of the two children was in the pool and the younger child remained on the edge of the pool. My two children were in the main pool while I sat on the stairs of the pool with just my feet in the pool. Within a few minutes of us being in the pool, I noticed the 2-year-old stumbling and the mother 2&8 year old rushing them outside.||My children asked to stick their feet in the hot tub and so we walked down to the hot tub. I checked the temperature of the hot tub before I let them get in and it was cooler than bath water. I let them get in hot tub- this was no than just a few minutes in the pool area for my kids. We were in the hot tub a couple of minutes when another woman (later known to me to be the grandmother of the other two children) cam running in the pool area and went outside. As she went outside my 4-year cried he didn’t feel well and went unresponsive. He had no communication ability or ability to use his arms or legs. He was limp and unresponsive. My 6-year had jumped back in the main pool. I was attempting to get him out of the water when the other family ran in to assist me yelling to get the kids out their kids were all experiencing similar symptoms.||||My 6 year heard her brother’s cries and jumped out of the water. We rushed them outside, while the 4-year-old remained unresponsive. Upon going outside my 6-year lost consciousness and as she collapsed, she hit her head and started to have a seizure. She has no history of seizure disorder. I was now attempting to stabilize both of my unresponsive children.||The other family called 911. I requested to an ambulance for transport. I do not know how long it took as every second seemed like eternity but several minutes passed before fire showed up. By that time my children were responsive. The other two children did not lose consciousness but were unable to walk normally or communicate and were violently ill.||Fire checked 02 and heart rate. They were stable. Upon learning it was going to be several more minutes for the ambulance we carried my 2 children inside to the hotel lobby, right by front desk to wait for ambulance. For the fire to get in they had to walk by the front desk and so the front desk and any other hotel staff in that area knew there was an issue. Nobody came out to check on us. The front desk worker did not acknowledge us at this point.||After several more minutes the ambulance crew showed up and took the temperature and vitals of my kids. They were stable and we did not get transported to the hospital. I decided at that point to leave the hotel as I was unsure was making my children sick. As we checked out the only assistance I received from the hotel was the front desk worker offering my children something to eat and drink and telling me that she was unable to personally cancel my reservation. She would pass along my request. I also advised the pool needed to be closed and was told that she was unable to do so.||||||The next day and over the next few days both of my children experienced headaches, dizzy, spells, diarrhea and nausea. We are awaiting lab test results.||||Today some 90 hours after the incident I received a call from the General Manager. I called him yesterday, 11/26/24 and left a message and his says he attempted to call me back but had the wrong number. It should be noted that he has access to my email address and booking information and could have called at any time. He admitted that he was alerted to the incident Friday night and so immediately he wanted to address the situation. By immediately he meant 2.5 days later when he came back to work from the weekend. I alerted Police, Fire Department, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, Public Health and Poison Control as I was desperate for an answer and desperate to make sure not other family experienced what mine did. He told me that he didn’t know how every official knew about this incident and seem surprised when I said I called them. He only called the pool company after city officials were onsite. Fifteen minutes into our phone call I knew it was a call to cover his liability basis and I pointed out to him that no person from Holiday Inn or their corporation have asked how my kids are doing or apologized for this horrific event. His response was that he was sorry.||||We likely will never know what caused my kids to lose consciousness. I tell this story not because I want anything. I want the charges showing up on my credit card reversed (Holiday Inn reports they show no billing on their end) and I want to make sure that no other family goes through this). Holiday Inn’s lack of compassion or follow through from this event is alarming at best. The pool area was not immediately secured or closed and no immediate action was taken to make sure that no other family became ill. I do not know if any other family experienced a...

Let me tell you about the disrespect of this man & his family.
I reserved the family room suite 2 weeks in advance for my daughter’s 8th surprise slumber party. For Friday December 6 , I arrive to start setting up for the surprise at check in time at 3 pm. When I arrived it showed my room was not ready so the front desk worked called housekeeping. House keeping claimed it’s because the last nights tenants stuff was still in the room ( WHEN CHECK OUT TIME IS 11 am) Coach Rudy and his family failed to removed their belongings. Dampening my plans. So I start freaking out that we are not going to be able to celebrate my 8 year olds birthday that’s tons of planning went into. Coach Rudy had left his belongings in the room and left the premises. So I’m starting to get very upset as it’s Friday and the hotel is booked. The manager wasn’t much help he said ( well this is new to us too as they were supposed to check out at 11 am and didn’t)
Then here comes the savior of the day.
Misti. You’re a god send and I will forever thank you for helping me play this off.
Misti come out and I explain to her it’s my daughters surprise party etc and she offers me the ballroom to have the party in but it wasn’t exactly what I needed so I requested a temporary room to where I could get my decorations in a row to decorate the suite I originally reserved. She gave me a temporary room and said she would get things figured out. She called “coach Rudy’s” family and explained they had left their belongings in the room when they were supposed to check out and remove their belongings they were not sympathetic at all. Apparently Coach Rudy’s family doesn’t understand how a hotel works?? Or are just plain out disrespectful.
After about 1 hour the front desk calls and says my room I had originally reserved was finally ready. The “surprise” party of the party was ruined but that didn’t stop us from having the most unforgettable experience alll thanks to Misti and Ashley & the team.
We arrived to our suite to everything extremely clean && a HUGE bag of snacks the birthday girl saw the snacks and was ecstatic 🤩 “ oh my gosh this is the best birthday “ there was a note expressing their sympathy of a misshapen that was totally out of the hotels control. If coach Rudy would have been a decent human and removed him and his family’s belonging at check out none of this would have happened. The hotel also compted our breakfast for the inconvenience but that was not all.
After getting the suite decorated We all headed down to the indoor salt water pool. It was extremely clean and the temperature of the water allowed the kids to have an absolute blast. Just as we started swimming, Misti walks in with a birthday gift for my daughter for the inconvenience “coach rudys” family caused us. She 100% didn’t have to get my daughter anything. But she did and my daughter will forever remember this day.
In the morning we awoke rejuvenated as the beds and bedding were extremely comfortable & headed down to breakfast. We ordered a variety of things and the kids did as well and absolutely every thing was delicious! But the cherry on top again. The waitress comes out and says we normally do not do anything for birthdays but we want to do something for your daughter so they made her a pancake cake and we sang her happy birthday. The birthday girl kept repeating this is the best birthday ever.
So to coach Rudy and your family. You almost ruined my child’s birthday. & even though you ruined it from being a surprise, the hotel made up for it.
The hotel was extremely clean everywhere. The rooms were great.
The staff was all phenomenal from the front desk girls to the waitress to the housekeeper all truly amazing caring people.
I will forever recommend this hotel to anyone that comes to visit the area.
Walking distance from this hotel you will find restaurants and such. There is a dollar tree as well as a dollar general within walking distance. The BEST hotel...
