I think Mexican is not really the way 2 describe this restaurant. I've had authentic Mexican food made by Mexican people and it has nothing to do with the food that is served here. Not that the food isn't good it's just that Mexican is a little misleading. I don't even know if I would go with Tex Mex. I had a steak and cheese quesadilla which was basically a flour tortilla folded with unseasoned steak and some cheese. My friend had a buffalo chicken quesadilla which by all standards is not a Mexican dish. Traditional Mexican quesadillas are nothing like the grilled cheese sandwiches that are served in America and called quesadillas. The happy ending dessert that we got for free because it was a Wednesday was a chocolate covered peanut butter and jelly sandwich topped with rum raisin bananas. It was a definite novelty and tasty . But Tell me that is Mexican. The staff was delightful. it was very crowded. the ambience of the restaurant is very fun. They had on the TV Mexican soap operas from the 60s which was very enjoyable. The music was the best I have heard in a restaurant in a long time classic rock which was unbelievable and I enjoyed it so much I really didn't care that it wasn't Mexican music that I usually hear in Mexican restaurants. There are pictures of Mexican wrestlers with their masks on which are very colorful and unique. It is primarily a bar probably so I cannot comment on the drinks but I know that people there were enjoying them. it was pretty crowded when we went on a very hot Wednesday afternoon. It was overall a very fun place with very nice people. There was also a number of young families here with small children. the food was okay but not what I expected. Also at every other Mexican restaurant I have been to chips and salsa are on the house, but here they are $4. I am saving the best for last. Chorizo mac and cheese was served in a giant Bowl hot and steaming and it was the bomb. It was enough for four people. I enjoyed it very much. And it is for that reason that I think you should go and try it out even though it is not authentic Mexican food. If I am in the area again I will definitely go there to get that chorizo...
Read moreLet me start this off kindly..THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE, STAY AWAY STAY FAR FAR FAR AWAY!!! a group of 10 of my family and friends went there for dinner and had the worst experience I have ever encountered in my life! 9 out of 10 of the meals were cold with RAW meat inside our steakhouse burrito's. The 10th meal was a just a cheese quesadilla which actually had little to know cheese that wasn't even melted. How the hell do you screw up just a plain cheese quesadilla???
I had personally bit into my steakhouse burrito with out inspecting it first and happen to eat a RAW piece of meat (and by raw i mean it was not cooked at all) I have been sick for the last 12 hours. This place is lucky they don't have a lawsuit on their hands!
We asked to speak to the manager several times and our miserable waitress ignored us. We finally grabbed a random waiter passing by and asked to speak to someone in which he replied "it would be nice if any of us knew where our manager was" ARE YOU KIDDING??? Not one person could locate someone in charge in that whole god forsaking place!
FINALLY the owner I presume came over and asked what the problem was. We showed him the RAW meat and ice cold burritos, to which he replied and I quote "well the cooks have probably had a long weekend and are ready to go home" SERIOUSLY?? that's your response? He did comp the meal and just told us to tip the waitress after us sitting and not eating for 3 hours. We left the undeserving waitress an $80.00 tip which was about $79.99 more than she deserved, but the people I was with had worked in the food industry in the past and felt bad for her miserable, unhappy, hating-life self.
My advice is to never go there on a sunday because apparently the cooks "had a long weekend and are ready to go home" so you will suffer, get raw meat, and get sick like I did. THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE FROM THE MINUTE YOU WALK IN THE DOOR!!!! SHAME SHAME SHAME ON YOU 10TH AVE. BURRITO, YOU HAVE OFFICIALLY LOST...
Read moreI don't even know where to begin. If I could give zero stars I would. The staff was a little weird which kind of turned me off. The waitress could not accommodate any of my food requests. At that point I should have just gotten up and left. I wanted a burrito bowl but she said they do not make them but they could just put the food on the plate but not mixed together. I was fine with having to mix it myself. I wanted the pork but the waitress said I couldn't get that with my particular order. She said I could get brisket, steak or chicken. I didn't understand that but I ordered chicken. I wanted white rice without cilantro. She couldn't accommodate that. She said I had to order brown rice in order to not have cilantro. By now I'm becoming very frustrated. I was hungry so I pushed aside my frustration and waited for my food. I shouldn't have been surprised but it was a huge disappointment. Everything was bland. I even asked for extra sour cream to drown the tasteless food but that didn't help. The Pineapple Margarita tasted like a cup of pepper. Disgusting! They need to remove that from the menu immediately. I now have to go somewhere else to eat because I'm still hungry. On top of that, I find it very uncomfortable and unsanitary having to eat surrounded by dogs. Not to mention large dogs that are barking at each other. Very unsettling and disturbing. I have never been so ready to leave an establishment as I was tonight. Needless to say, I will not be returning here again and I will not recommend anyone that I...
