Bad day at the Belmont, NC location.
This location is more often than not, hit and miss on food quality and service. Worsening with time. Perhaps it is due to the employee turnover rate. There were no familiar faces at this visit. Not everyone can run a grill. Much talent is required. More emphasis needs to be put on retaining quality grill chefs.
Waiting tables is not a job for just anyone either. Being successful server requires attention to detail and focus. These traits are harder to come by than one might imagine.
Please, please, please replace the drinking water filter. If this location is not equipped with a filtration system for the drinking water, please install one. No one enjoys drinking water that tastes as if it came from a pond. Even lemon slices could not cover the tainted flavor of the drinking water.
Servers need to pay more attention to detail. My waffle was delivered without butter cups or syrup. By the time the server got back to check on me, my waffle was cold. To make matters worse, the server was completely unaware of the error. I was forced to ask for butter and syrup for my cold waffle. The hashbrowns were acceptable. The bacon not cooked evenly. The over easy eggs were parched and hard around the edges.
To drink, I ordered unsweetened tea. I was given sweetened tea. I brought this to the servers attention and his was corrected. Sadly, the unsweetened tea had a tainted sour flavor. Tgoigh i stayed for an unnecessarily long time, waiting for my unsweetened tea. I never did get my fresh tea. I requested water, only to find it distasteful and un-drinkable. I finished my meal with nothing to drink. Very disappointing.
To the manager: Please replace or install filtration for the drinking water and work with your servers on focus and attention to detail. Especially on the quality of perishable items such as unsweetened tea. Waffle House unsweetened tea has long been my preferred unsweetened tea of any restaurant franchise.
For the time being, I will have to exclude this location. Perhaps these concerns listed above will soon be corrected.
Until next...
Read moreUpdate from my review from 12/11/2022 today is April 2024 they tried to charge me $24.00 for 2 sandwiches. Prices are continuing to go up. I asked for 2 Texas toast Bacon Egg and Cheese sandwiches just the sandwiches adding only 2 toppings grilled onions and tomatoes. No sides, no drink just sandwiches. She informed me that the prices will continue to go up every 3 months.
(Update on my review from 2 years ago. Last night was 12/11/2022 I hesitantly visited this location again. Big mistake. Way worse than my last 1 star visit. Again new people, this time raised price of same sandwich but this time almost double, it was the first time they ever messed up cooking it, I mean burnt all 3 sandwiches, black burnt all the bread pieces and all the bacon and eggs were more than over medium, all of them. Was hard to communicate with cashier as well what I wanted she asked if I wanted this meal on a menu and if I wanted my ingredients on hash browns as well over and over and I said over and over I don't want any meals or hash browns and these are things I want on Texas toast like a sandwich. I had to keep repeating myself 4 times. )
Used to come here regularly probably a total of 200 times in last year. For whatever reason last few consecutive visits pricing changes every time. I've always ordered the same thing and recently always been a different and higher price, depends who's taking down price. And I don't understand the To Go Fee when a To Go order is only option they give for ordering food there. And now they no longer take to go orders on...
Read moreThe Belmont WH was our favorite. Its always our goto for breakfast. We had breakfast today and have decided its no longer our favorite anymore. The food was ok. The waffles and bacon were under cooked and the grits were extremely lumpy. But it wasn't the food that has turned our stomachs, it was the staff. You see, there was a new server who had just started, very timid, unsure and extremely sweet. She told us today (Sunday) was her first day without her mentor and it was suppose to be her day off but she was called in. Now, shes working the Belmont WH on a Sunday! Thats a brutal day to go. Very very busy. She was unsure of herself but she kept a smile. She was so frightened of making a mistake that she was almost in tears. Now I know working for Waffle House isn't for the faint of heart. I couldn't do it. BUT, this girl thought she could and she was doing it, just a little slow. She really wanted to impress her coworkers. She would ask a question and the other coworkers would snap at her, mock her and even say nasty things to her and she never once got upset or mad. She kept apologizing, over and over. She was really trying. They were extremely harsh on her and it was...
