NEVER go here on a Friday morning, and don’t bother ordering ahead. I had ordered ahead one drink and one sandwich, and when I walked in , it was ready, but there was an absolute madhouse inside with no organization. My order had been sitting at the counter, so I tried to grab it, but some kids stopped me and insisted that my order was part of theirs. I kept trying to reason with them, because it was very unlikely that the same exact drink & sandwich had the same name on it, especially considering that I had ordered something off menu. They thought my brown sugar oat milk shaken expresso was an apple crisp frappe with whipped cream (??) and kept trying to take my drink while the baristas stood by helpless. Eventually , after I gave up , and was waiting for the baristas to RE MAKE my drink (pointlessly, as it was sitting on the counter ). Then, the kids finally decided to check their app order and confirm that, in fact, their drink was completely different from mine, and they gave a halfhearted apology , after handling my drink one more time just to hand it across the counter to me. By this time, the sandwich was completely cold. So, I don’t know what I expected the pick up process to be, but I didn’t expect to have to fight with school aged children over getting my drink and food….. I don’t think I’ll ever pick up from the counter again here. They need clearer labels , or not to just set things out Willy nilly and let whomever decide that it’s part of their order. it would not have been nearly as busy or crazy in there if they had some...
Read moreAvoid this Sbux! I did a mobile order and went to the pick up stand at the end of the bar. My order wasn’t there. So I sat and waited. They called out for a blueberry scone and then my name. They finally walked it down to where I was sitting and the guy actually handed it to me. I then sat there and watched people who walked in after me leave w/orders.
Finally, I got up and asked about my mobile order. The guy who handed me my scone then comes at me w/attitude that they are out of the bfast sandwich I ordered. I’m like “gee that would have been nice to know when u gave me my scone!?” And he actually had the nerve to say “well sorry, someone should have told u...” really, u think? And, mayhaps that someone should have been u?
I then ask about my drink and this girl comes running up w/it and chimes in “it was at the end of the bar”. So I ask how I was supposed to know that if they didn’t put it on the mobile pick-up stand or call my name?
I finally ask to talk to the mgr at that point to at least get my sandwich comped because I’ve wasted 15mins of headache and hassle that my mobile order was supposed to have saved me.
In any case, this backwoods Belmont location has not grasped how their own mobile ordering works and expect you to not only be telepathic, but ask THEM when your order is ready. Epic fail on all...
Read moreAs a former Starbucks employee, I have to say this is probably the slowest Starbucks I’ve ever been to. I once waited 45 minutes for an iced Americano (literally just ice, a couple of shots of espresso and water) after placing a mobile order 10 or 15 minutes before I arrived. I had placed the mobile order because I needed a quick cup of coffee before heading to an appointment (if I’d had the time, there are a lot of lovely local mom and pop coffee shops I would have gone to instead).
This isn’t an occasional occurrence. Every time I have placed a mobile order a head of time at this location over the past year, I end up waiting at least 20 minutes to get my order — and even once had an employee accuse me of lying when I noted that she had given me both of my food items, but I was missing my drink. (She made me hand her my cellphone through the drive thru window to prove that I had ordered 3 items total further holding up both me and the cars behind me.)
Operationally, the partners at this store and their shift managers and/or regional manager need to figure out how to more effectively design the kitchen area of the store or have enough staff on hand for more efficient throughput times. It’s unreal how long I have consistently had to wait for mobile orders both at the drive thru and in store over...
