Golden Chick — Restaurant in Belton

Very disappointed in this particular Golden Chick. Hubby and I frequent this chain in our many travels specifically because of the availability of roasted chicken.

We ordered 2, three piece dark meat roasted chicken plates with coleslaw and green beans.

After ordering we went to get unsweetened tea. The tea containers were out of reach for customers to serve themselves. Husband decided to get diet Dr Pepper instead. The dispenser ran clear. When we said something, one if the employees said, " oh...we're out. I don't know why it doesn't have a sign!"

After getting our drinks we were informed they only had enough roasted chicken for one order. This was right at the dinner hour and there were only the three pieces cooked? I said give the roasted to my husband, and I'd take fried chicken instead.

When our plates came out, there were french fries and no green beans. One of the employees did apologize, and got us green beans. There were no bins for customers to get eating utensils, I had to ask for forks. The beans and coleslaw were both tasteless. Both forms of chicken were quite good. The ice cream machine was working, which was good.

One of the employees had her two children there. Though for the most part the two kiddos were rather well behaved, they were disruptive enough for the mother to yell across the dining facility telling them to sit.

By the time we left, there was still no sign on the empty Dr Pepper dispenser

Our many excellent experience won't deter us from eating at other Golden Chicks however, we won't be visiting this...

Are you kidding me right now? I have been waiting in the drive-thru line for going on 20 minutes and why you ask..... a little cobalt with 3 girls in it you would think ordered a ton of food. WRONG! 25 MINUTES waiting for a bag with a 9x5 inch box that could hold AT THE MOST a 4 PC tender. How do I know? Because that's exactly what I ordered. They were at that window for an extra 3-5 min talking to the attendant, another high-school aged girl. They finally left. The xt truck pulls up gets their tiny box of whatever for 1 and leaves right away. Then I pull up. 10.78 for 4 slivers of chicken mercilessly deep fried way past petrification, some Okra, a roll, and a drink. Oops scratch that. She never handed me one but was sure to rush me right on atta there with a "have a wonderful evening". 25 min wait Overly cooked Over priced Small portions And shorted the drink Do you still wonder why I gave it 1 star?

Burger flippers should NOT be earning 15 per hour which incidentally is what an entry level accounts Payable rep makes in accounting.... all to result in high school kids being overly paid so the public can bare the price increases and pay things like 10 dollars for 1 chicken breast sliced into 4. Price gouging 101. The true current economic retail value of that meal is $6.99. Less if theres no drink. Last night was the most disappointing experience I have ever had at this Golden Chick. I have spent money with them before. I love the family environment that the staff has and the comradery. Food is always hot and never disappoints. Well, until last night. I order thru the drive-thru, and since we both ordered catfish, we were asked to pull around and someone will bring our order out in 5 minutes. After sitting there for 25 minutes, the store cleared out there customers and the staff was standing around talking. I got out of my car and went in to find out what the hold up is with our order. When talking to the young girl at the front counter and I told her my order, she was like “oh, you had the catfish.” They didn’t bother to ask the manager in the drive thru who the order belonged to. I instantly asked for my refund since my time was wasted. The manager gave me my refund, but didn’t offer to make it right by fulfilling the order that should’ve been to us 25 minutes ago. She said, “I didn’t forget about you”. REALLY???? Your team did, so in effect, that includes you Ms. Manager. So, no food offered for the inconvenience, and she had the nerve to say, “See you next time.” NO. REALLY. YOU ARE NOT SEEING ME NEXT TIME!!!
