I had pizza and sandwiches from Chonie’s Pizza food truck, and it was one of the best food experiences I’ve had in a long time. Even though they were busy, the husband and wife duo running the truck were incredibly friendly and made me feel like their only customer.

Their hard work shows in every bite. The pizza was packed with fresh ingredients—crisp, non-pickled jalapeños, freshly chopped basil, and toppings that were full of flavor. The sandwiches were just as tasty, made with the same love and care.

I'm a fan of Detroit style pizza when it's done right, but the challenge with some of the options in town is that the dough ends up a little overproved or not quite dosed right (flour/water ratio), so you end up with a dense and chewy crust particularly towards the center. Chonie's however says "hold my beer!" and completely hits that challenge right out of the park! I had the best dang Detroit style pie that I think I've ever had. Just awesome.
