Ok I feel like 2 stars is somewhat generous for this. Let me start by saying I've gotten accustomed to Lost Pizza in Benton which is better by leaps and bounds. I really wanted to like Hideaway. But it is mediocre and I'm not sure why it's so busy.
We were seated in the upstairs patio, which would be great if it weren't so close to the interstate. We had to yell just to have any conversation over the road noise. We were there at a time when it wasn't busy, and yet our server took forever to greet us and left us with empty drinks, and we had to flag him down if we needed anything. The food took an extremely long time on top of the bad service. Honestly it's been years since I've had such bad service. I used to wait tables so I try to be forgiving but this was over the top.
The cheesy garlic bread tasted ok but was limp and soggy when you bit into it. Great idea, poor execution. The parmesean garlic wings my husband got were far and away the most greasy wings either of us have ever seen. Like, I'm not even sure how to get them that way but they did. And it wasn't garlic butter. He got their version of a supreme and I got pepperoni. The little crunchy pepperonis were good but the pizza as a whole was similar to what you might get at any chain delivery like Domino's.
I REALLY don't know why this place is so busy. Nothing we got would ever make us back. The food wasn't gross or anything but average food and horrible service isn't enough for me to be a...
Read moreThis is a new place for Benton, Arkansas. At the time of this post, Hideaway Pizza has been opened for a couple weeks. Just like any new establishment, there are an extreme amount of workers. I went with my wife and I to try them out. This was during COVID. The place was extremely clean. The hostess was friendly and we were seated within twenty minutes after being put on a wait list. We ordered the fried ravioli as an appetizer. I also ordered a small hand tossed "Paradise Pie". The appetizer came out within 10 minutes and was very good. The raviolis were crisp with a soft mozzarella stuffing. Our pizza came out but it was not hand tossed. Somehow the server put my order in as thin crust. The Paradise Pie was delicious but I was reminded by the flavor that most pizza places have the same flavoring i.e. bacon, chicken, alfredo, spinach when it comes to these types of speciality pizzas. The price point with a sweet tea was $22 and Hideaway Pizza honors veterans with 10% off. My only complaint is that my sever gave us one napkin only and hardly checked on us. I ran out of tea and didn't get a refill until I got my ticket. I will definitely be back but it's not like a craving...
Read moreWe had a party of 20 and we got there before they had a waitlist. They split our party into 4 tables and we were fine with that. One of the tables had guest still sitting but they were paying so we were told just to wait and we would be seated there next. So we waited. Then the “manager” comes up to us in a frenzy and tells us he is going to sit the 4 of us at an 8 top with 8 people already sitting. His reasoning was he didn’t want to rush the table we were waiting on because they were still eating. When I brought to his attention that they were paying, he then changed his story and said that there was now a wait list and he had already given that table away to someone else. So I explained that we were here before the waitlist started and asked why are you trying to cram 12 people into an 8 top? He states that he is trying to accommodate us so we need to accommodate him??? So I ask… If we are paying you money to eat here why do we have to accommodate you. We are the ones paying??? Needless to say I took my money some place else that I don’t have to accommodate the business and pay them to do it. I’m guessing it really is hard to find good help...
