See bottom of post for original review I gave this Texas Roadhouse 5 stars six months ago, and unfortunately they dropped three starts this week. I made an online order for pickup, and it was a mistake. I ordered the same thing as usual, NY strip medium rare with mushrooms and gravy, Cesar salad, and mac n cheese. I parked in the to go spot and since there were so many people I didn't see the pickup window and passed right by it to go inside. I asked the hostess where the pickup was and she was rude and said it was outside, rolled her eyes and started talking to the other hostess again. Ok whatever. I go to the window and the girl in there says, "What's the name?" I tell her and she hurriedly hands me my food and goes in the back. No hello, good bye, or have a good night or anything resembling decent customer service. Now I am a bit uncomfortable and wished I would have went somewhere else. Fast forward to when I get my food home. The salad was fine, mac n cheese was ok but tasted a bit old. Then the steak was just something else. It was the absolute worst steak I have ever had. Parts of it were well done, but most of it was very rare, and it was literally half fat and gristle! Absolutely horrible! As you can see in the pictures there is a huge portion of fat, but what you don't see is the ribbon of sinew running down the middle of the meat. It was so bad I had to get our culinary scissors to cut it! I ended up only eating about a third of it, and even my cat didn't want the rest, and he loves steak scraps! Bottom line is do not order to go, eat inside where they can't screw you by giving you the trash they are unwilling to serve to the tables. It is pretty ironic that I have had one of the best steaks and the hands down worst steak at the same restaurant. The inconsistency is disconcerting.
It’s always a bit crowded at Texas Roadhouse. I had the New York Strip and was very pleased with the cut of meat and temperature. The last few years TRH has been hit or miss on the quality of steaks, but this one was really great quality! Server was very nice and attentive. Overall an...
Read moreIt took us 45min to be seated, then took an additional 15-20min to have a waitress come to our table to take our order. We made it very simple :2, 8oz sirloin "medium rare" with mashed potatoes and the seasoned rice. It took an hour and 13min to get them to finally bring our food to us, after we had kept telling the waitress we had an appointment to make at a certain time. When she had finally brought our food to us, it was absolutely cold. There's nothing worse than getting a cold 🥶 steak at a steak house. We had to ask her for to go boxes, didn't even have time to send it back. And yes, we were late for our appointment, after had giving ourselves plenty of time to stop for Lunch. (This is normally a great place for lunch, especially hot great food; but not this day.) / ( 1-25-23 ) new update posting, "I had never once stated that the food was not good." Texas Roadhouse food is always a great choice. We were really disappointed in not being able to have our lunch in the restaurant 😞 as per we had intended, chose to eat here cause of their wonderful food, then due to the nature of the time taken away from whatever the trouble was, then getting my food cold 🥶, along with no other option but to take it with me after having said I had an appointment up the road, the waitress had still seemed to not of been listening or care for her customers. I got up and asked another sweet girl for the box. But I definitely, most definitely enjoyed my dinner that night. ( Food take home is 5 stars. But I didn't go for take out, I went in to eat ! ) that's why I gave the...
Read moreIt has been a long time since my wife and I have been to a Texas Roadhouse, and now I remember why. It was a typical Friday night with a wait when we came into the I-30 location. We were seated quicker than our wait was quoted and quite honestly (as far as a good dinner out) that's where it ended. Our host dropped us at the table and kept walking, not even saying a thing. Our server showed up and she took our order. Our drinks came in a decent time, however our salads? She admitted she forgot to put the order in when the power flickered from the storm. My prime rib was ordered medium rare and it came out more rare than anything. My wife's steak came out like a rainbow, cooked different temps all the way through. She also ordered medium rare. It was pointless to ask for a re-fire, because we saw our server a total of 4 times. With both of us having been in the industry for decades, we knew that our food sat under the heat lamps. Mashed potatoes were crusty on top. Once, when we were ordering. Second, when drinks were served. Third, to drop off food to us, and the fourth was when she was trying to rush us out. We were never offered refills on our drinks, and I had not even finished my steak before she was asking how we were going to pay. Who knows how long it would have been to see a manager had we requested one, so we just paid and left. The only reason we went to Texas Roadhouse was because we had a gift card we used for partial payment. Honestly, we would have gone to Logan's down the road where we frequent more often. Can...
