I have not been a big fan of McDonald's for a long time. Don't visit to often other than when I get a craving for a QUICK burger. Anyways it's been awhile since I visited this McDonald's because of the last experience not being so great. Since it's been over a year I thought things might of changed, I was wrong. I did a walk in and was the second person in line when I arrived. I understand these places can get backed up and possibly be short on employees, that wasn't the case. I counted 4 employees in the back and 4 up front. So 8 in total. Only 1 employee was working the register and she had no clue what she was doing and had to ask for help at least 7 times before completing the customer's order who was in front of me. Finally I get up there with a simple order, 2 Mcdoubles and a basket of fries. The girl waiting on me handles that order simple enough. After waiting more than 10 minutes for my order to be taken I started a timer on my phone and when I recieved my order the timer said 17 minutes and 22 seconds. So I estimated my time of being waited on and receiving my food was 27 plus minutes. And as I said I was second in line. That was bad enough and knew I should have walked out but didn't. Anyways from the short walk to my car and reaching in the bag I realized my fries were barely warm. I really didn't want to go back but after all that time I think I deserved hot fries. When I went back in and told one of the employees this, she had the manager come up and say we just pulled those fries when we served them to you, I'm sure they were hot when we gave them to you. I said wouldn't they still be then beings I recieved them 4 minutes ago. She gave a shrug and a sigh and told the employees to make a new batch. Of course I didn't except after that and left. Sorry this is so long just wanted people to know you won't receive many good experiences at any of the fast food places in Bethel Park. Burger King is horrible, employees at Wendy's are rude and lazy, and McDonald's is a joke. Sadly the place that offers the best experience gets the least business, and that's Arby's. Other than me being told the Milkshake machine is down at Arby's. I have never had a bad experience there with cold food or wait time. Employees there have always been respectful and pleasant as well. Anyways this has been my experience with all the fast food places in Bethel Park for many years other...
Read moreIt's nice to know that that I'm not the only one who has had the very WORST experience at this McDonalds. It is the most horrible one I've ever gone to and definitely the worst in the area. I've actually contacted McDonald's corporate offices half a dozen times reporting them and have seen no changes. (I'm not the kind of person who usually does this.) Just yesterday I had to wait 10 minutes to place my order at the drive-thru and then wait another 15+ minutes for my order to be brought out to me. In that time I actually looked up their phone number online and called them saying that it was absolutely ridiculous to have to wait 25 minutes for fast food. I insisted that none of my food should be cold at this point even though I knew it would be. I wanted all of my food fresh. As per usual, based on all my other experiences here, the fries were disgusting and cold as other people have commented. I've worked fast food before, so I can safely say it's not rocket science. This time the workers we're not as rude as usual, but typically they are quite rude, especially a manager who has red hair. For anyone who lives in the area, I HIGHLY recommend going the slightly farther distance to the McDonald's on Fort Couch Road. It might take a little longer to get there, but in the long run it will be worth it. You will STILL get you food in a faster amount of time, AND you will get hotter, fresher food and definitely faster and friendlier service! It's worth the extra few minutes drive versus waiting at least 10 or more minutes for cold food and bad service. Plus if this McDonald's loses more and more business, hopefully they will get the message?!
BTW, for you late nighter's, the Library Rd McDonald's NEVER keeps consistent hours. They basically close when they want to. I've reported this as well and no one has done anything about it. I don't care when a restaurant closes, but I do prefer that they close the same times they list or CLEARLY list the times they close, so that I know what to expect. Sometimes they close at 11 p.m., sometimes they close at midnight, sometimes they can close ANYTIME between those two times. I think at least one time they closed a little bit before 11, but it's a crapshoot... it doesn't seem to matter whether it's a...
Read moreThe products I've had here have been great -- the service hasn't quite been great, but I don't blame it on the employees. I arrived late one night and the person handing us our food looked absolutely exhausted. She didn't respond to a question we had, and then closed the window and walked away, possibly from dealing with one too many Karens for the day. The order ended up being wrong and we did not receive a receipt. I contacted McDonald's, however, and got a response from management and they were very friendly. They weren't able to refund us the difference of the mistake unfortunately, which would have been ideal since we may not be in this area to return much longer, but instead gave us a gift voucher. Unfortunately, I won't be able to use this unless I redeem it at one of the nearby locations, but she explained to me that due to corporate policy, it was the best she could do and I totally respect that and I can tell the manager cared a lot. Staffing employees is very hard these days (especially for nighttime shifts), and I would venture to guess that the employee that made the mistake was just very tired and stressed out -- working fast food is very hard and doesn't get the respect it deserves in my opinion. Given all these circumstances, I don't fault this particular restaurant at all, and the 1 star off is for McDonald's as a corporation not providing their management with the tools to succeed. If you're in the area, definitely give this place a visit and please be kind to these hard-working...
