Wonderful spot to grab a quick, amazingly brewed cup of coffee in Bethesda! I first fell in love with Grace Street Coffee Roasters in college, when I would visit their OG location in Georgetown's Grace Street every Friday morning. Now that I've moved a bit further away from campus and no longer have a ton of time on Friday mornings, I've been feeling nostalgic about my old university favorite.
So just imagine my excitement when I stumbled upon Grace Street Coffee in Bethesda! This lovely little shop is a bit different from their Georgetown counterpart -- for one, they don't have any indoor seating and consist of just a tiny little window that you can order from and a small patio you can pop a squat on when the weather is nice -- but sports the same outstanding coffee and friendly service. Their coffee is great, all roasted in their historic Georgetown spot and featuring great caramel-y, fruity undertones. And, while they have a small shop in Bethesda, it is mighty; all of the drinks are prepared with expert precision and efficiency. You might have to wait in line for a bit, since there are only two people working here and it gets pretty busy, especially during the weekends, but it's 100%...

I have to assume there was an error here, but still ... I got a black coffee this morning and while I walked home with it, it smelled very odd. I took a sip and it was horrible! Either the coffee pot was filthy, had rotten coffee in it, or it had cleaning solution in it when they brewed the coffee (this is my guess). I tried to call to let them know before they got someone sick but there's no number for this place. The people getting espresso-based coffees seemed happy so I'm sure it's a fine place, but there's no way their coffee is meant to smell and taste the way it did. I have been meaning to try this place for months and I finally had a day off and was on a...
Read moreThis place is hands down the best coffee shop in town! I tried an iced matcha latte, a Kyoto cold brew, and a macchiato—all were perfect, but the macchiato was my absolute favorite.
I was hesitant to try their espresso since I hadn’t found a great one in town. But to my surprise, it turned out to be the best espresso I’ve had all year—maybe even in my life. It showcased the full depth of the beans’ flavors—rich but not overly bitter, smooth without being too light or acidic. The creamy milk balanced beautifully with the espresso, creating a flawless harmony.
They even use a La Marzocco, one of the top espresso machines out there. So ditch those sugary coffees and give their espresso drinks a try—you...
