๐Ÿงกใ€LA Foodie Guideใ€‘๐Ÿงก Unforgettable Restaurants in Los Angeles During my pregnancy in LA, my days were all about eatingโ€”so much that I gained nearly 40 pounds ([crying][crying]). As a foodie mom-to-be, it was bittersweet, but today Iโ€™m sharing some must-try spots (letโ€™s gain weight together [smirking][smirking]). Will keep updating! ๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€ใ€Mastroโ€™s Steakhouseใ€‘๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€ Style: American Fine Dining Rating: ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ Price: ๐Ÿ’ฐ๐Ÿ’ฐ๐Ÿ’ฐ๐Ÿ’ฐ A legendary steakhouse in Beverly Hills and my personal favorite. The Baseline: For a Steak House Fine Dining experience, the steak must be of high grade prepared to how I order it, the seasoning/flavors must make me salivate for the meat, there must be side dish offering that accompanies the meat, and the experience must make me feel like I am a part of a special experience that is an incredible steak dinner. Food: Yes the food. The steaks are high grade and perfectly cooked. We had the New York strip and the Ribeye and the texture, seasoning, char on the meat, the juiciness, the flavor of the steaks were soooooooooo good. Joy is the flavor of the meat. The sides do not disappoint either, Mac and cheese is high quality, the mashed potatoes were creamy/seasoned/delicious, and the desert cheesecake was well portioned and not overly sweet with fresh berries. The after diner coffee made me comfortable happy as the finish to an incredible meal. Service: The serving staff are top notch awesome. Water glasses always full and they are ready for all reasonable requests though I never asked for any unreasonable ones. Ambiance: I know I am at a steak house when I am here. That dark leather, wood seating decor look, not overly bright lighting with that dancing candle light look, along with the salivating smell of cooked steaks. That is the quintessential steak house experience.

This isnโ€™t my favorite place to eat in Beverly Hills. I feel like itโ€™s a bit outdated. The last time I went, I sat at the bar and I got lobster mashed potatoes, and it tasted like soup. Dear Mastroโ€™s Management,

Iโ€™m writing to share how disappointed I was with my recent visit to Mastroโ€™s Steakhouse, where I celebrated what was supposed to be a special birthday dinner.

From the beginning, the experience felt chaotic and unwelcoming. We were moved to four different tables before being seatedโ€”each time without clear communicationโ€”which immediately set the wrong tone for the evening. On top of that, the dining area was uncomfortably cold, making it hard to relax and enjoy our time. My mom and grandma couldnโ€™t even joy what was going on because they were shivering and two seperate tables had complained as well.

When it came time for dessert, the wrong item was brought out twice. On the third attempt, though the dessert was correct, my name was misspelled on the plate, which felt careless given it was a birthday. The server began singing Happy Birthday but stopped midway through, leaving the moment feeling awkward and incomplete.

What stood out the most, however, was the lack of warmth or hospitality from your staffโ€”especially the manager, who appeared visibly annoyed when we asked for assistance. Instead of feeling celebrated, I felt like we were an inconvenience.

For a restaurant with Mastroโ€™s reputation and pricing, I expected a much higher level of care, attention, and professionalismโ€”especially for a birthday celebration. Unfortunately, this felt like anything but a special occasion.

I hope you take this feedback seriously so future guests donโ€™t leave feeling...

We chose this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary, but unfortunately, our experience was disappointing in many ways.

Ambience: The restaurant was very dark and incredibly loud, making it difficult to hear one another. The live music was turned up too high, which gave the place more of an upscale bar vibe than a fine dining atmosphere.

Food: The food was the biggest letdown. We ordered a Wagyu tomahawk steak priced over $200, but about 75% of the cut was fat and inedible. After one small bite, we stopped eating. We also ordered sautรฉed broccolini and friesโ€”both were fine but unremarkable. The oddest part was the extremely hot serving plates, which made the food so hot that it burned our tongues.

Drinks: I ordered a Sazerac, but it was harsh and unpleasant. While Iโ€™m no whiskey expert, the aftertaste suggested that a lower-quality whiskey was used.

Service: Our server, Momo, was not very attentive. She offered to take photos for a nearby table but didnโ€™t extend the same offer to us. She checked on our meals before weโ€™d even taken a bite and then disappeared until we flagged someone for the check. Water refills only happened when we waved down staff.

Overall: The experience fell short of expectations, especially for the price. We spent nearly $400 and left feeling disappointedโ€”I donโ€™t think weโ€™ll...
