It takes A LOT for me to leave a poor review especially after being in the industry for over 10yrs.
I have been to Avra Beverly Hills twice now and have had two VERY different experiences. The first experience my girlfriends and I were dressed up in our designer brands, and were seated right away in the heart of the restaurant and were provided decent service given the busyness of the evening.
The second and most recent time I visited here, my husband and I were dressed to go to the comedy club, slacks, polo, hair and makeup done and straightened, with boots and nice matching attire. When we arrived we waited 20min for our table which typically would've been understandable during a busy hour HOWEVER, there were several parties who walked in after us and were seated immediately. Initially I thought nothing of it but when I saw our table I knew why. They sat us in the very back corner table by the kitchen in the back of the restaurant after putting other 2-top walk-ins in their booths or in much nicer tables. I have never EVER been treated like this in my entire life, we were judged harshly and quite frankly discriminated against because they assumed we were tourists or poor. Little do they know my husband is a doctor who owns our practice and I myself work with and for very high profile individuals.
During our dinner service, we were rushed. Nothing was coursed out. The waiter was not friendly, paid little attention to our needs. Not one empty glass was bussed from our table the ENTIRE TIME after ordering multiple drinks, not once were we offered a refill on water let alone were plates bussed in time for when our meal arrived. Food was honestly meh. I've had much better and that applies to both occasions.
If you want the stereotypical Beverly Hills experience of being treated and judged on how much Chanel you are wearing, then go here. They should take a lesson from Mark Cuban and stop judging people or assuming their wealth based on how they are dressed. I'll be sure to spread the word on this to my contacts in all the cities they...
Read moreWe are pretty big fans of Greek food specifically this style. We found this place on accident and decided it was worth a try. It reminds me of a very famous restaurant in Las Vegas that is extremely similar in food and presentation.
As we(a group of 4) arrived we were seated promptly in a very busy restaurant. They had at least 2 hostesses and they looked very busy. The whole place was basically packed and it was A Thursday night. The interior had lots of trees and lots of open space, a pleasure to be in for sure. We were seated in a booth like table and our server took our drink order. We ordered quiet a few different appetizers, including sea bass skewers, tuna tartar, Greek salad, zucchini chips with yogurt dip. All of our appetizers were delicious. The Greek salad was fresh with great tasting olive oil, just like it is supposed to be. If you will go there and only order one thing, get the fried zucchini chips with yogurt dip, totally worth any drive and any wait. For their fish selection you can go up to a large stand with fresh fish on ice and pick your fish to be cooked different style.
We ordered sea bass, barbounia and fish of the day which turned out to be mahi mahi . All fish was perfectly cooked and we were stuffed. We were lucky enough to get a dessert platter which we thought we were too full to eat, but we devoured it in like a second, including the pistachio ice cream, baklava , chocolate cake with raspberry sauce. If you think you are too full for their dessert, still order it it is amazing. The service was quick and prompt with generous serving of crispy Mediterranean bread with hummus and olives on the side and kind of sweet radishes.
Please do yourself a favor and visit this place if you like great quality fish and fantastic service. As it is located right in Beverly Hills go for valet parking and it is hard to find...
Read moreAVRA Beverly Hills is nothing short of perfection and easily deserves more than 10 stars! This place is absolutely buzzing with energy, especially on weekends, so reservations are a must. It’s no surprise, though – AVRA delivers an unforgettable dining experience every single time.
From the moment you arrive, you’re treated to impeccable service that’s consistently 10/10. The staff is attentive, professional, and warm, making you feel like a VIP from start to finish. Parking is a breeze, with plenty of nearby options and valet service available for added convenience.
The cocktail menu is phenomenal, with expertly crafted drinks that are both creative and delicious. Their selection of wines and champagne is equally impressive, catering to every taste and occasion. But let’s talk about the star of the show: the food.
The food at AVRA is simply on another level. Every bite is a masterpiece. Start with the AVRA chips – crispy and addictive – and then move on to the tuna tartare, which is fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The saganaki, filled with fried cheese and herbs, is pure heaven, and the black caviar is indulgent and luxurious.
The highlight for me, though, is the branzino. The presentation is such a special touch – they bring the whole fish to your table raw so you can see its freshness before they cook it to absolute perfection. The result? A dish that’s light, flaky, and bursting with flavor.
AVRA Beverly Hills delivers on every level – from the ambiance and service to the drinks and food. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply enjoying a night out, this place will leave you wanting to come back again and again. It’s not just a meal; it’s an experience.
If I could give more than 10 stars, I would! Do yourself a favor and make a reservation – you...
