I am deeply disturbed by the experience my disabled mother and I had at The Maybourne Café. We arrived ahead of our family and politely informed the staff twice that we were waiting for the rest of our party. Despite this, we were approached and told to leave the café, with no valid explanation—other than, it seemed, discomfort with the way my mother looked due to her disability.
This was not only humiliating and deeply hurtful, but also a clear act of discrimination. There was no crowd, no issue with seating—we were simply sitting quietly and waiting. The only “problem” appeared to be my mother’s appearance, which is utterly unacceptable.

Expensive, but really... it's Beverly Freakin' Hills, a place where $16 juices are not out of the question. This is a great place to take some tea, people watch, and relax after gawking at all the stores from which you'd buy things if you had a huge bankroll. They have comfy couches where you can stretch out and meditate or maybe cat-nap. I went for after-lunch (juice is HUGE thing in LA) and made it last while I watched all the Christmas shoppers. But, looking around at the diners, the food looked pretty amazing. I will definitely try one of their signature dishes next time...

The atmosphere is elegant but still comfortable, and the food is fresh and well-prepared. Their pastries are top-notch and the presentation is impressive. The coffee is really good, but just know you’re paying luxury prices, around $10 for a cup. While that’s definitely on the high side, you’re also paying for the experience and setting. Overall, it’s a great place to unwind or meet someone for a casual, upscale...
