Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in Beverly

Ordered two subs and two bags of chips using the app. When I got there to pick them up, I waited 10 minutes before they noticed me and asked me what order I was waiting for. They said it was currently being made. So, I waited another 10 minutes and they called my name, but after I looked at the receipt taped on the bag, it was the wrong person - who knew there could be more than one order for someone with my first name. I gave it right back to them and said that is not my order. They then deduced that they had given my order to another person and will have to remake mine. I then sat back down and waited another 20 minutes. I heard them say that they had not even started my order and that I have already been sitting there for 40 minutes...duh!

After waiting another 15 minutes for them to make my order, I finally got my food.

I totally expected that when they handed me my order that they would make it good by refunding my order or at minimum they would give me a gift card. All the little dude said was, "Sorry for the wait". Are you flipping serious??? Piss poor service for something as easy as this. My order should have went first as soon as they realized they messed up and gave my order away.

If they want to stay open, they should address these issues properly.

Truth in advertising: I went on what I think was the first weekend open to the public and used a BOGO coupon.

Location: Convenient in the shopping plaza with other small and large stores. Parking can be crowded here but today I found a spot without issue.

Staff: Given the grand opening there was a large amount of staff behind the counter (maybe 15?!) And they were friendly and communicating with each other and the customers. Was also nice to see the franchise owner out front and involved.

Food: My wife had a club sub "Mikes Way" (basically all the toppings) and I had a Big Kahuna cheese steak. Her sub was large and fully loaded, with a huge handful of lettuce and freshly sliced meat and cheese. With numerous other local steak and cheese options in the neighborhood I felt a little guilty but had to try it. Steak was tender although 'rough cut' compared to places that nearly mince it. Plenty of cheese, but could have used a little more onion/pepper/mushrooms. Pickled jalapeños gave a good kick. I did notice my roll was at least an inch shorter than her cold sub.

Value: Subs average $8 and change, slightly less for cold ones., but for the price you do get a good value. Also appreciate the opening promotion benefiting Beverly Athletics and hope the community support...

I've never had anything from a Jersey Mike's before. Heard lots about them but lucky enough to live in an area where local sub shops use fresh breads from local bakeries so I haven't had a need to go to chains like this.

But my elderly Italian mother, who is very very hard to please, had a Jersey Mike's Italian in Florida and to my surprise, she really enjoyed it. There are no locations convenient to me but I saw this is right around the corner from someplace where I worked the next day, so it seemed like fate was telling me to try it myself.

I downloaded the app and scheduled an order for an Italian. Straightforward, nothing special for my first time. Nice and easy, curbside pickup right after work.

A little on the pricey side for the length of it compared to some local places. You'd get several more inches for about $4 less at the grocery store that claims to give you more for your dollar, but those other places don't jam-pack the amount of meats and cheeses this had. And these are quality meats and cheeses, not stuff with the water as the primary ingredient like the meat at that supermarket. And good bread that doesn't get soggy from that watery meat and fall apart in your hands.

I can't wait to have to work nearby again so I can get the full-sized...
