My husband and I stopped in here after a hike and decided to try it as it is in the same center as the grocery store. The restaurant was pretty busy when we got in. Not surprising since this was the lunch rush so it was chaotic, and as this was our first time there we didn't know what to expect. We stood in the line that said order, since there was no designated host/hostess area nor did anyone greet us when we entered. So we figured it was order, grab a table etc.
After waiting a few minutes it was our turn to order. We were asked what table we were at, and my husband told the lady we didn't have a table. Apparently we were supposed to be greeted and shown our table. She assigned us a table number. Note, there are no table numbers on the table anywhere we could see. So after some directions were given and we made a wrong guess or two, we found our assigned table. I'm sure we were comical to watch.
Anyways, we were able to get our hands on a couple of menus, and my husband went to place our orders of pizza slices. By this time we were hungry, having had a light breakfast and had been hiking for a couple of hours, and we were trying to stave off"hangry". Drinks were self serve, but our food was brought out to the table to us. The pizza was all right. It was edible, but it wasn't to my taste, nor was it my husband's. But food is subjective, and varies person to person. To me the sauce was lacking in zest, there was too much cheese on the pizza (I never thought I'd say that) and the crust was a little too doughy.
The people working there were pleasant but harried. There seemed to be a lot of confusion due to the lunch rush. Their system, to me, anyways seemed...
Read moreI have, for the most part, given up on getting quality pizza anywhere after living on 9 states. Imagine my suprise to find one of the best pizzas of my life in Big Bear, CA. As always, I checked reviews, and the restaurant in the busy tourist part of town had the best rating, but Maggie's was closer with easy parking, so what the heck. Storefront pizza parlor in a big Vons shopping center, so plenty of parking. You can smell the food from anywhere in the parking lot. We were greeted at the counter and given menus to take to the table to decide. You go back up to order and pay, get a number, and get your own drinks. The food is delivered. They have one of those drink machines with hundreds of push button options that my grandson loved. I think he tried 10 combinations. We ordered a large salad with cheese and a large works pizza. The salad was a good sized set up with mixed greens and a wonderful vinegrette. Plenty for three. The pizza came, and man, did it have the works. Everything you could think of and all fresh. Thinly sliced zucchini, mushrooms, peppers, onions, and every meat you can think of. The crust was perfect, and the sauce sublime. We couldn't even finish half between the three of us. Wow, was that a great pizza! Service was post covid standard. Had to ask for a third plate and silverware, but they were very friendly at the counter and trying hard. Normally, I would knock a star off for service, but the pizza was that good.

Read moreI have never encountered such rude and disrespectful service in a restaurant before. If you enjoy being treated poorly, then by all means, visit this place!! The waitresses here act as if customers are an inconvenience rather than the reason they have jobs.
Here's what happened: I went to get some water from the dispenser, where there was only one plastic cup left. Naturally, I used it. Minutes later, a waitress (the blonde) approached me and rudely snapped, "You weren't supposed to touch that cup! It was ours!" I immediately apologized, but she just walked away without another word.
Then, I grabbed a couple of napkins from a nearby table--because, well, I needed napkins. Another waitress (the brunette) barked at me, "Hey, you're not supposed to touch those! We have a sign there for a reason!" Excuse me? A tiny handwritten 4x6 sign that no normal person would even notice? If napkins and plastic items are off-limits, why leave them out in the open?
The way your staff treats paying customers is disgraceful. No one should walk into a restaurant and feel like they're being scolded like a child over minor, harmless actions. It's beyond unprofessional--it's flat-out embarrassing!
As a repeat customer, this restaurant lost my business for good, and I truly hope you, as the owner, wake up and hire staff who understand the meaning of "hospitality". Because right now, your employees are actively driving...
