Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Big Rapids

It seems to just only be the service everytime and specifically at this very one in BR. Everywhere else is just fine.. But seems it need recongizations towards care for each costumer. When I've brought it up to my friends and they receive the same tensions. See walk in there it's never a "Hi" or just friendly never no smiles from the staff lady's. Everytime theres times they won't even be busy most times yes understandable they are but normally there's just the one person speak to that takes the order. Find it actually funny today one of there ladys messed up my order. It was first supposed to be a small blueberry bliss and large sunset rise. However she lied to me saying they had only 1 size cup! Which makes no sense beacuse I have been here about handful times before with my kids. We always got a small with them unless they were out. Anyways receive my drinks both Large one was supposed to be small. I had asked the lady who made the drinks. If i could get a small cup. I was hoping she would say they were out. Ok fine ill take the large. And get my small cup now. Even though I asked for a small originally when I ordered and the extra cost was almost $30 that wasn't expected i never.. and surely we plan to not go there any more. Other locations for sure just for a couple reasons now this one has just blown my mind. The environment needs more enlightenment. It is cute in there always clean and drinks are always good same for food they make it all so very quick too!! But tell me why the service absolutely all around sucks everytime. It's tropical smoothie, you shouldn't have to read a review, it's always great. The smoothies are amazing and food is too, all for really good prices.

That's not the reason for my review though. Today is November 30th, 2020 and who ever was the guy and lady working went above and beyond for me. I ordered online at 5:45 pm and didn't realize that this location was temporarily closing early at 6:00 pm. I showed up at 6:05 and called and asked if they had my flatbread and smoothie, they said some one already took it. And even though the employees already closed up they stayed to make my meal.

Super impressed with those two for going above and beyond, I wish I caught their names to thank them extra.

When I was there Saturday June 20th 4 girls were working that afternoon. I was clearly disappointed by the lack of disregard to not wanting to wear their face masks correctly. They either had them around their neck or hanging off their ear. They obviously didn’t care about wearing them correctly to protect themselves or others. They made me feel a little uneasy about wanting to have them make me & my daughter flatbread sandwiches. I luckily I was wearing mine but they weren’t as my sandwich’s were being made.
