Harbor Freight — Local services in Big Rapids

Another interesting business, that over the years has made increasingly good quality products for cheap prices: China. Harbor Freight has cheap tools with limited life-time warranties. Today, day 3-of-4 of a 4 day Memorial Day weekend sale allowed me to buy 1 item 25% off (per customer, per day - I’ll be back tomorrow). I bought a Quinn Master Impact 3/8’s Socket Set with extensions and various adapters. With sockets running metric and SAE from 8mm to 19mm, and 7/32 to 3/4. Short and deep well sockets. It was originally priced at 109.99 before 6% sales tax. I walked out the door with it, after tax, for $87.44 and I’m so pumped! I have grown up, alongside my dad using Snap-On, SK, Craftsman, and other tools brands with great satisfaction. In my dad’s retired years, he uses Harbor Freight and they’re almost as good for less than half the price with a surprisingly great warranty policy. Not that many months ago, I brought in a broken and faded 3/8 swivel ratchet for my dad - they questioned it only for a little bit because the color was off due to sun damage. Once I grabbed a matching, new ratchet off the rack and showed them they were exactly the same everything, they brought me back to the counter; with a printed off replacement receipt and new ratchet in-hand, out the door I walked, impressed. Worst customer service ever!!!! We were in the store midday on Saturday to buy a tool chest. The color we requested was out of stock at this location so the manager sent us to another store that they were supposed to hold for us until close. However the Wyoming michigan store stated that they only agreed to hold the tooldbox for 1 hour. It takes longer than 1 hour to get from the big rapids michigan store to the Wyoming michigan store. So we went back to the big rapids store on Sunday and decided on a different color. However we got to the store just before closing and they refused to sell us the tool box because they would have to go get it out of the back and now they were closed. Not customer oriented at all. Don't buy here unless you absolutely need to, the deals may be good but customer service and work...

Terrible products, Terrible Service.

Bought a gen that apparently had been returned on account of the fact that it had oil residue in it when we bought it. The generator (Predator 6500) only runs for about 20 mins and then stops. Came back to return and the associate wouldn't help us until all gas and oil were out of the unit. He had a very poor attitude and wouldn't show us where the gas siphon was and definitely didn't want to deal with us.

Then we had to pay 105 (20%) restocking fee

The older lady at the front desk was nice. She made origami for my daughter as she waited.

I would not recommend Predators products and Harbor Freight lives up to its name of (you get what you pay for...
