We really love Rockets! It’s very affordable, so much so that when we have a Programmer Interviewee, Intern, or Job Shadow we make it a point to bring them to this downtown institution to give them a bite to eat (on us!) and introduce them to a cool restaurant.

Their specials are always unique and worth a try, but if you want a tried a true (and don't mind a little spice) the Bayou is my go-to. Oh, did I mention these guys are fast? Like Freaky Fast! Either to go or to eat end. There is a reason that the line can snake out the door around peak lunch hour (12 noonish, the earlier you get there the better).

This was a great place for quick bit to eat while on a short lunch break. I had the Thai half wrap with Ceaser Pasta Salad and the housemade Gingerale. The wrap had a kick but was amazing. The Gingerale was incredible. They note on their website that their ceaser dressing is made with anchovies. They do not lie. I am not a fish person but can handle most ceaser dressings. Not this one. Their dressing was a little to fishy tasting for me. Next time I will heed the warning. The person I was with really like the pasta salad so don't let my sensitivity to fish scare you aware. I've driven by countless times and one day after picking up some french bread my dad and I decided to try it. It is a super cute and original place. They also have homemade soda that sounded amazing. However when I got to the counter and the cashier asked me what I wanted for my drink, I froze. I was faced with a decision. The stress and anxiety was unbearable. I squeaked out 'Just water please' and immediately I regretted my decision and wish I just chose the soda but was too awkward to change it. Moral of the story: just get the dam soda.
