Experience an Otherworldly Meal at The Ole Biloxi Fillin’ Station
Got kids? Tired? Hungry? Look no further. The Ole Biloxi Fillin’ Station has you covered.
Imagine this: You’ve just solved multiple problems in one stop. Step out of your car and onto the cool, covered patio, where the inviting ambiance instantly soothes your weary eyes and ears. With its cozy half-brick walls, warm lighting, and self-seating, this place wraps you in a nostalgic embrace.
As you approach the entrance, you’ll realize that The Fillin’ Station isn’t just about filling your stomach—it’s about filling your soul. There’s a magic here, a serene feeling that sweeps over you like the gentle Mississippi breeze on a warm, 80° day. This place feels like heaven, like a dream you never want to wake up from.
From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted by the friendly staff, who make you feel right at home. My family and I felt genuinely welcomed, and there’s a comforting sense of safety with the attentive barkeep nearby—a rare but invaluable feeling these days.
Now, let’s talk about the food. We visited on a quiet Tuesday evening, at 10 pm with only two other patrons around, and we ordered:
• Fried catfish po-boy with potato salad • Fried shrimp po-boy with potato salad • Children’s fried catfish with fries (the right kind of fries, too!) •Two drinks from the bar (REAL DRINKS)
These fries? They’re the real deal—fresh, hand-cut potatoes, fried to perfection. They’re the only fries that should ever accompany fried catfish and shrimp.
In my 26 years, no restaurant has made me feel as happy or excited upon arrival as The Ole Biloxi Fillin’ Station. The atmosphere was quiet, empty, and absolutely perfect. The food? Pure bliss. As someone who doesn’t mince words when it comes to food, especially fried seafood, I guarantee you’ll actually eat every bite of this.

Read moreWe came here because of the reviews but was highly disappointed. Guess I’ll start with the staff first. 2 rude bartenders that lack customer service skills. The bartender tending to us snatched our menus from in front of us while we were looking to select drinks and rolled her eyes when we asked for the menus backs, so we decide not to get any drinks. When our food came: 1. They NEVER brought us silverware or napkins, 2 NOT ONCE DID THEY CHECK WITH US to ensure we enjoy the food or needed anything. 3. The one bartender who was our server was so busy closing out tickets and count money that that’s all she did the entire 40 mins we was there. The other bartender had an attitude when we finally asked for silverware. We ordered the seafood platter and you would think being this close to the gulf the seafood would be fresh. It was all horrible prebattered frozen seafood. All of which taste horrible. The crab cake I’m sure is 100% crab filler with no real crab meat in it. There was a man behind the bar not sure if he was the manager or another bartender but he was standing directly in front of us. After calling for his attention for a solid 2 mins the bartender who was counting the money stopped and asked what we needed. We asked for a cup of ice. She fixed a cup of ice and slammed it in front of us. The funny thing is after not attending to us the entire time she ask us in the middle of our meal could she close us out because it’s shift change. I wanted to ask her how about serving us instead of ignoring us but I said yes please close us out. This is the first time in life I ever paid exact amount without tipping. Our experience was just terrible. On the bright side the atmosphere was nice and their French fries are delicious. I own a restaurant in Florida and was definitely shocked experiencing what I did today. I highly NO NOT...
Read moreI went with my family this evening for dinner, my first visit there. It was Saturday evening at about 7:30, and we had a party of 6. There were not many people, so we didn't have any wait. Upon entry, the very friendly and energetic waitress politely greeted us and put a couple of tables together before we even had to ask. She was very friendly the entire time and kept drinks filled. We placed our order, food came quickly, and it was cooked fresh and was hot. More on the food. First, I wasn't really impressed with the menu, but I knew that going in (it wouldn't have been a place I personally would have chosen, as most of the options are fried foods). I went with the grilled shrimp basket. The shrimp was seasoned decently but was still lacking something. It was also very, very greasy. It also had a wang to it that even cocktail sauce wouldn't kill. I was expecting large shrimp, but these were not large, and I am almost positive they were not fresh from the gulf. The number of pieces they gave was acceptable, though.
The atmosphere was neat, a little hole in the wall type bar with nostalgic photos and memorabilia. There was a nice patio seating area as well. The place is also dog friendly, which I thought was nice.
Overall, it wasn't a bad experience, but the food was sub par, not the worst I have ever had, but in my opinion less than mediocre, especially if you are looking for dining. If your going to have a few drinks and like bar food, and if that is what I was hoping for I would have probably given the food score 3 stars instead of two.
I see that some people love it, others don't. If I were asked to go again, I would try to suggest a different pick, but I wouldn't give it a hard no either. I would try it on my own accord again if I am in the area during crawfish season, and they were having a...
