The customer service here was like coming to a family member's house. The hostess/waitress was super friendly, and so was the owner. This place is super small, so if there is no space for you inside you can eat outside unless it's raining. Also, parking is extremely limited, so in most cases ordering to go is going to be your best bet. I ended up ordering the Catfish Parrain after asking the Hostess "What's good". She said, of course, everything but then she ended up going with the night's special which was about $24. Now I wasn't expecting to order something so expensive, but she convinced me by telling me that you get your money's worth in Catfish and Crawfish Etouffee. So I ordered the special. The place was packed, but that wasn't hard since the place is very small inside. They lady apologized for the inconvenience and offered me to sit outside and that she would bring me my drink. Long story short, some people left, and I got a spot inside. After waiting about 20 minutes for my order, I received my basic salad with ranch. I didn't mind the simple salad since I didn't come here to eat salad and it was fine. Once I got the dish I was impressed by how much Ettoufee was on the plate and how large the plate was. She was right, you will get your money's worth. The Crawfish was cooked perfectly and breaded just right. It was soft and flaky and just perfect. The rice was soft and nicely cooked, a little mushy but fine. The Etouffee and the sausage were really the problems in this dish. The Etouffee was just salty, and I had to drink my water with every bite. Then the sausage bits looked overcooked or dried out. Kind of like beef jerky. The sausage tasted fine, but it had its dry moments. The overall flavor was there but for $24 I wanted this dish to be perfect at every bite. It had some crawfish pieces, I know I found about two, but I didn't see a lot. The customer service is 5 stars and I'm sure their fish and chips are also, but I had their special this time, and it was not a 5 star. I will say this, the dish will make you fall asleep, It was a lot. Next time I'll get their fish basket or any other fried basket because they all looked real good. Also, I have heard so much about their bread pudding that I really need to come back just for that. I hear...

I came for the chicken & sausage jambalaya, however the server talked me into their specialty of The Cheesesteak Po’ Boy. I don’t even like cheesesteak, and it has some bell peppers on it, but I could tell I could trust her suggestion. She said the bread is fried and no one does it like this. It was out of this world. Even the fries were delicious and melt in my mouth. I didn’t need any ketchup for the fries, and coming from a sauce addict, that says a lot! My man had the Catfish Parrain dinner special. It is jambalaya with two filets of fried catfish and poured over with crawfish etouffe. It was the perfect blend of all the flavors and bites he was looking for. He doesn’t like super spicy and said it’s the perfect kick of flavor!
This place is currently a hidden gem on online reviews because they opened during the pandemic. They make everything fresh to order and use high quality ingredients. Don’t look at the menu prices - it is affordable (don’t worry) but I would pay double for this quality and flavor!
Every dish has a family story! The pecan pie was made special and beat with a meat tenderizer to make the pecans real fine for Marlen’s grandfather who didn’t have teeth to chew the pecans and it’s on a graham cracker crust. And they use pharmaceutical grade vanilla in it for its purity.
It seats about 20 inside and it’s a nice, cozy vibe. The patio seats more. And BYOB. Marlen’s, the owner, is a local and is one of the kindest guys you’ll meet. Michelle Ann is a great and personable server with a lifelong history in the restaurant business and it shows. Do they sound like family? They felt like it. Don’t...
Read moreMy husband and I drove over from Mobile to pick up some furniture. We're always looking for new places to eat, and while the first stop we made coming in to mississippi wasn't good, this place right here has definitely earned a spot on our returning visits list. The online pictures looked so delicious that we had to stop. It's definitely a small and quaint restaurant... maybe about 6 tables inside, but I did see some tables on the outside patio to the side. There was only one waitress but she was very sweet and prompt. We got the bouding eggrolls,Catfish Parrain, Combination Platter, Chicken and Sausage gumbo, and the beignet bites to-go. The egg rolls were really good, would actually do a different dipping sauce other than the sweet chili sauce. For the Catfish Parrain, I enjoyed everything about it however my husband said he could have done without the sauce but that was simply because it takes away from the crisp of the fish. The fish and shrimp was fried to PERFECTION. The fish was seasoned perfectly but the shrimp was a bit salt but still was perfectly fried. I wasn't a fan of the gumbo, my husband said it tasted more of a stew than gumbo. It was good but wasn't a gumbo flavor I'm use to. The beignet bites were delicious. usually I go to PJ'S and I love me a good strawberry sauce but unfortunately they didn't have any....it wasn't missed. So far theese are hands down the best beignets I've had. I ate them about an hour after getting home(after a 45 min drive) and they were still delicious. Definitely...
