Traditional Italian. For cocktails we ordered a Cosmopolitan and a sparkling white Moscato. Very nice beginning.
We started with appetizers of crab cakes ($13), bruschetta ($11), and the half order of antipasti ($14). It was overall delicious. The crab cakes were very small and had a lot of breading but the flavors were delicious. Antipasti was good. Served on a small cutting board with Italian cold cuts, cheese, kalamata olives, a blue cheese spread with toasted bread, olive salad and artichoke. The bruschetta was freshly made with a layer of pesto and built up with yellow and red tomatoes on toasted bread. Additionally, they brought out a basket of seasoned bread, which I believe had oregano baked into it. Bread was served with a trio of olive oil, hummus with garlic and a red pepper spread.
For dinner I was planning to have the Marsala but was told it was less traditional and the server did not like it so couldn't recommend it. Seconds later I saw this fabulous looking Chicken Parm ($22) walking by, so that's what I ordered. This was two huge chicken breasts served in the traditional manner, breaded, fried and cheese topped over sauced spaghetti. My spaghetti was a little under al dente so that was a bit underwhelming. My dining mate went with traditional Spaghetti and meatballs ($22). It was good. Her pasta was truly al dente. A little bit of inconsistency.
Desert for her was Zabaglione, an egg custard served with biscotti and baked. It was similar to a Creme Brule. I ordered the canoli. 100% traditional and delicious. All deserts were $8.
Once again I forgot the pictures. I think the food was reasonably priced for the quantity and quality and being inside of a casino venue. This is the first true Italian place I...
Read moreWe LOVE Stalla! One of our favorite places to eat at The Beau. This occasion was for our 25th wedding anniversary. Interestingly we were seated at the same quiet, cozy corner booth as we had for a previous anniversary dinner! We love it because it’s curved and makes it easy to slide close to each other. Melissa was our server and she was great! Friendly and efficient. 4 Stars for the Fried Calamari appetizer. Tasty, but a bit chewy. We’ve had better. 5 Stars for my Wife’s Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo. Tender chicken over fettuccine pasta in a rich, creamy Alfredo sauce that wasn’t overly heavy. Sadly, only 3 Stars for my Seafood Manicotti. It was topped with 3 plump shrimp that were sautéed in a salty brown sauce. (possibly teriyaki?) Whatever it was it made the shrimp inedible unless covered with the creamy sauce in the dish. Speaking of the sauce, it seemed like a watery Alfredo. Just didn’t have the body I expected for the dish. The manicotti was actually very good. Chock full of a flavorful seafood filling with noticeable chunks of seafood. Covered with a baked cheese topping that had a nice crust. We were stuffed, so we got an order of Cannoli to take back to our room. They were excellent! Crisp shell, just sweet enough, creamy filling (although a bit under filled), with the ends dipped in dark mini chocolate chips. Still a favorite place, but I would shy away from the...
Read morewent to dinner last night on 03/30/21 at 530. restaurant was clean as usual and service was great but everything else went down hill fast. our wine was served hot not cold, out of the box hot. so we had to wait for our wine to get cold in the bucket of ice. the bulk of dishes had spaghetti. I did not want spaghetti. So I asked for a veal Piccata with something beside spaghetti. My piccata was served with spaghetti, the veal was not pounded flat,. one was over cooked and one was under cooked. the sauce was excellent but overall, just very disappointed. My wife had chicken parm and it was fair. So we dried desert. Stalla's use to have a fantastic Vanilla Creme Brulee but it was not available. Instead they had a sneaker's creme brulee. Sneakers at a fine dining restaurant. I dont remember seeing many kids at the restaurant. so we order the Egg custard with the berries. The menu should have read Egg Custard pudding with berries. It was ok but half of the pudding was hot and half was cold. so how was it suppose to be served???? Hot or cold?????
just overall very disappointed. sadly our dinner a month ago at Olive Garden was much better and cost...
