I would definitely say that two star rating. I gave the buffet at the Beau Rivage on this Saturday February 15th. Visit is based largely off of their closing policy and management attitude.
We arrived at the Beau Rivage around 8:30 and got into buffet line. The buffet closes at 10 and about 9:20. They pulled us to the comp line to try to help get everybody in faster.
As we were going through line waiting to pay the general manager was taking our payment. I looked at him and said y'all are busy tonight, which he agree. Goodnites plane that we had been in a line for about an hour. And he implied that it's often like that on the weekend.
At this point I made the comment that if they knew they had a great product that people would stand in line anywhere up to two hours to get why not stay open later like the other buffets in town on the weekend?
Then I probably asked him what their plan was for all the people still waiting to get in. We close at 10 and our policy is to pull all food off the buffet at 10:15.
What he really said here is Tama Mirage Resort looks upon its customers the same way Walmart does. An endless supply. If we offend people to shut down the buffet before they can enjoy what they paid $30 a piece for Well, who cares?
Coming from 25 years in the restaurant business. And background in marketing I decided to keep an eye on things. Sure enough, even though we got in at 9:30. It was clear. The staff was in the process of starting to downsize everything.
You had to rush to grab any crab legs, and I admit that I didn't even take time to break the crab legs open with the cracker. This meant I only selected the legs I can break open and quickly grab the meat and I left all the clause which are the best part to go bad and cold on my plate.
This was done. So I could hurry and rush and get enough crab for the money I paid before it was all taken away.
What's on the floor? I was playing a little bit of money. While my wife could Gamble's quite a bit was enjoying a good run on a slot machine.
A Asian waitress came by and it sounded like she was calling for drink orders. I wave my hand and asked for a drink of water and she waved me off continuing down the line. On the opposite side of the aisle.
It seemed as if she was ignoring me and I called loudly ma'am. A supervisor a young black male in the slot area walk over to see what was going on and I explained.
As I was trying to explain lady came back over and practically chewed me out in front of her supervisor telling me that she was trying to find a person do in order to drink and she could not find?
I clearly felt bad because I understood at that point that the reason she was ignoring me was that she was not calling for drink orders, but she was calling trying to find the person who had ordered the drink.
When were here the night before on Valentine's Day. It was easily well over a half hour to get any beverage on the floor.
At that point after I accepted the dreaming I got from the cocktail waitress. I did made it clear to the manager that I was obviously mistaken. Again, this yard supervisor echoed the save attitude. Has the buffet manager.
You are an Expendable customer and we do not care about your satisfaction. It doesn't matter if you're sitting at a penny slot popping in a couple dollars at a time. If you're not a high-roller, you mean nothing to Mirage Resort?
At that point I cashed out. What I had in machine with was not much in Mott's my wife as she continued to roll a few hundred dollars from her slot machine.
The Beau Rivage in Biloxi is a beautiful property and I'm sure that they do have a handful of employees who truly care about their job. For now, they have lost this customer.
I use voice dictation Chapeaus this I did not stop to see if anything was grammatically, correct. I hope you get the picture. It's spend your money in an establishment where your business is...
Read moreI am HORRIFIED. It gets 2 stars because it's not the worst buffet I've ever been to. But close. I LOVE THE BEAU. But they should burn this buffet to the ground. It is an embarrassment. Where are all these 5 star ratings coming from? Were these people raised in a hut in ethiopia? Almost everything is just carbs. It's all at about room temperature. For this price, I would like some meat, vegetables and fruit. REAL FOOD. Not a bunch of noodles, rice and potatoes. The asian food was worse than Panda Express. Any buffet with pizza on it can NOT have 5 stars unless you are a hillbilly. I cook. I would be embarrassed to serve most of what was on this buffet. Someone complimented the mac and cheese. OH HONEY... I could make better mac and cheese with one arm while blindfolded. I assume that the people thinking this is the greatest food on earth must live on tv dinners and McDonalds. I could barely gag down a few tablespoons and then looked for fresh fruit. All they had was some unripe cantaloupe and honeydew. People rave about the desserts. I can't speak to those as I rarely eat sugar. If you are paying this price for the desserts which look like pretend plastic from Barbie's dream kitchen, please come to my house and I will make you some home made desserts from scratch and give you some good conversation to boot. My mother would roll over in her grave thinking that people were spending that kind of money to eat this garbage. Eat at ANY of their other restaurants if you can afford it, and you will know what good food tastes like. To all those with 4 and 5 star reviews, I will sadly...
Read moreNo no & no! My friend went for lunch & it was nothing special. We went for dinner & expected better food. Worst disappointment. I was looking forward to Mongolian grill. Every place has it different. Some serve it at the table with a tray you can turn. You can cook different meats & have many sauces. If it's served right it's delicious. I chose the steak with schewan sauce & chose some veggies. The noodles were large & awful. It should be the thin glass noodles instead. The steak was chewy & poor quality & the sauce was not schewan nor spicy. It was awful. There was no choice of Asian at all. They had rice & general Tao chicken. No egg rolls no dumplings. There was no Greek or Mexican food. For dessert people say the creme Brule is the best. Sorry it's the worst. The sugar layer is too thin & too much custard. People don't know what the real thing is. You have to be French or come from a French culture to know the real thing. The whiskey sauce is good. Otherwise nothing special for dessert. The sweet potato with pecans was best for me. And the best for my husband was seafood gumbo. Too much in the BBQ section. Chicken didn't look appetizing. All in all $60 for 2 people & so little choices was not worth it all & will not return. The old buffet was bigger & better. We'd rather go to Island View, spend less but their buffet is amazing. Just the Asian section is much bigger & many great choices. There were items other buffets don't have. People I suggest not to waste your money on such a poor selection & quality. The Beau should be ashamed when their standards are expected to be...
