Brick & Tin Downtown — Restaurant in Birmingham

Brick & Tin is fantastic -- definitely one of my favorites in Birmingham. They're committed to using fresh ingredients and making as much as they can in-house, and the quality is really outstanding. Their menu varies a little bit depending on the season, but you'll always be able to find delicious sandwiches, salads and desserts.

The downtown location is usually packed at lunchtime, but I've always been able to find a table or at least sit at the bar, even on the busiest days. The service is pretty quick, so it's definitely possible to get in-and-out on a lunch break. The staff is friendly and efficient making the overall experience really great.

Brick & Tin reminded me of what great sandwiches can taste like. Flavors are balanced perfectly so everything on the menu is a reflection of the season and much more than the sum of its parts, meaning dishes taste exciting and familiar (in a good way, like mom's cooking or comfort food) at the same time. Their brisket is so good that my dad insists on stopping here at least once every time he's in town, even if it's just for a few hours. (He calls eating their brisket "going to the mountaintop" -- it's that good.)

I also like that Brick & Tin has fresh, healthy salads for when I'm looking for something different. Their salads are crafted with really great ingredients, and they're obviously more than an afterthought, the way they are at some restaurants. This is also a great place for vegetarians -- every time I've been, they had at least one veggie sandwich on the menu, and most salads come without meat unless its requested.

This place rocks!! The staff was so friendly and helpful. The setting is fresh, clean, and hip. The food Ahhhh-Mazing I ate it too fast to take a pic because it just looked and smelled too good I couldn't wait to chow down. I wish I would have known about the 20% online order coupon. I would have ordered beforehand and picked it up. I'm only in town for two days so won't be able to use the offer but here is a pic for all of you. The chocolate bread pudding 😮😮😮😍😍 there are no words to describe how yummy this treat it is, it is a rich dense dish, I recommend sharing and adding extra whip cream which tasted home-made as well. Atmosphere was great. People were friendly. However for the price verses quality. Those two did not match. I love local places from Bham to Atlanta. However, $8 for macaroni that was runny and not thick with multiple cheeses. $15 for a burger that was natural but thin on the meat and over done. Small drinks for $12-15. Equaled a $65 tab for two people and the quality was not at the same level as other boutique restaurants. $30 and I would have felt okay. Or an amazing burger and exceptional macaroni dish would have been good. Love downtown Bham. Lots of good places. And again. The inside looks amazing. And a narrow menu is good.
