This is the first Moe's Southwest Grill that I've ever been to, and it is conveniently located directly across the street from UAB emergency room. My son's girlfriend and I took my son to this restaurant to give him a little break from being inside the hospital as well as to eat something besides the severely over priced and bland tasting food available inside the hospital. This facility is small, somewhat difficult to maneuver a wheel chair inside. This is a place heavily visited by people from the hospital, a decent number of which are using wheel chairs and other assistance devices to be mobile. It was a monumental fail not to make the customer area maneuverable to people relying on these devices to get around. That is one thing, but to further make this restaurant uncomfortable to negotiate with a wheelchair, is the clutter of boxes sitting in the way in various places our in the dining area. However, the food quality was excellent, and what we received was like the picture on the menu. The service was decent. It would have been better if the workers had a little hustle. They had 2 speeds, turtle and baby turtle. And we were charged $1 more for each small spoon of Pico de Gallo that we requested to be on our food. This cost was not communicated to us when we asked for it. If it had been, we'd have passed. This is a place that had a good location and good food, but I wouldn't recommend it over bringing a sandwich from home. The service is slow and the employees act annoyed. The space is small, and it's a...
Read moreThis is probably the worst Moe's I have ever been to. Upon entering the store, the staff did not seem to notice we were there. We had ordered in advance and didn't see our order on the pick-up stand so we sat there for 10 minutes before realizing that the staff just never put it out and it was sitting, ready, in a plastic bag behind the counter. When we finally got it, I asked for our drinks and our chips, to which the guy said, "The chips are in there under the boxes." We got our drinks and were heading out, when the cashier guy says, "Hey, this is yours" and hands me the side of queso we ordered and thought was in the bag with the chips. 10 seconds later he turns around and says, "Oh wait, that's for this lady" and hands it to another lady. We left and upon getting home, we realized there were no chips, no queso, and our actual bowls were completely messed up. I am allergic to dairy and mine had sour cream and melted cheese, while my boyfriend had all of my toppings on his and he has food allergies as well. I have never experienced a Moe's messing up so utterly, especially when there were three people on staff and yet somehow none of them seemed to know what...
Read moreToday I went for tacos. I ordered three. 2 crunchy 1 soft. I asked for beans on all three and add rice to the soft. Instantly the lady seemed annoyed with me and passed my order off to her coworker. I chose beef for my meat and it was the smallest amount ever. When it came time for the toppings I picked all the usual taco toppings including gauc. I noticed the queso and asked for some on each taco... The guy now fixing the tacos did let me know it would be extra and I was fine with it. UNTIL I get to the register and my totals was 21.05 for THREE TACOS. It was the same lady that had originally helped me when I first placed my order. When I asked her for my receipt she said it was too late to give me one and I asked to see the receipt in her hand which I guess was the store copy. That's where I discovered they charged I around 1.49 for gauc and 1.49 for queso and that's per taco!!. An additional $3 per taco for gauc and queso is insane. Especially when the microscopic dallop of gauc wasn't any bigger then a nickel. She then got upset when I asked for a refund. The refund has yet to be put back into my account.. I'll skip this specific Moe's...
