The Fennec - Sports Bar & Grill, Live Music, Events — Restaurant in Birmingham

Was recommended I should check out this place called The Fennec so well I did. I have never heard of or seen this place until I was told about it and now I'm like why didn't I know about it sooner?!

The atmosphere itself was awesome with a nice bar, live music, nice looking stage and dance floor and yes a disco ball! Great place to hang out and eat good food.

The staff was top notch our waiter was so great. We had to wait almost an hour for our food only because the kitchen was backed up with a huge parties order. We didn't complain once we totally understood. But this waiter was on his A game!

Even though we waited nearly an hour for food we were not disappointed the food came out hot and fresh everyone at their table loved the food they got but you know me I order neutral unless I'm recommended something in particular.

The burger I got was legit cooked perfectly I ordered it medium well and that's what I got a hot juicy burger. However there was literally no seasoning on it salt and pepper would have took this thing sky high. Wasn't a huge fan of the kaiser roll but that's just me being picky at that point I personally just wouldn't use that but it was toasted perfectly so no complaints. I will say I ordered bacon on the burger and only recieved one strip of bacon on it and I found that to be very odd. HOWEVER the burger gets a solid 7.9 out of 10 from me. Having some salt and pepper would have had it in very high 8's

The fries were fries crispy salty good to go no complaints.

The wings I personally think $15 for 6 wings is a bit much but they do give you 6 jumbo sized wings with fries and ranch. I ordered the hot honey wings. These wings were so hot when they came out and had a nice spicy and sweetness I just loved. But once again they clearly weren't seasoned. Some seasoning salt would have set these bad boys off! Wings get an 8 out of 10 from me. Had they been seasoned definitely a 10.

We also got the Churros for dessert these things were so good it came with 4 churros covered in cinnamon sugar, chocolate drizzle, strawberry, and chocolate ice cream, oh and on the inside of the churro it was filled with caramel. All that and it still wasn't overly sweet. Definitely 10 out of 10!

I highly recommend you go check this place out its well worth it. The portions a appropriate and you are getting what you pay for including live entertainment. I'm coming back to this place and I'm bringing more people with me. If you haven't been here please go check...

HOW BRICKTOP SAVED THE DAY! You guys came HIGHLY recommended. Not sure what the problem was on Vday, but our first time experience was severely disappointing. Our reservations were set for 6:30. We arrived at 6:20 and we were seated. The atmosphere was SUPER. Our server greeted us almost immediately. We ordered the 5 course Vday Special and our excitement declined from there starting with my beverage order. But, that was fine. We each were suppose to have bread service and we didn't. Course #2 Kale Salad and Mussels. My salad was actually good. Course #3 Lobster Bisque - NEVER CAME. On course #4, is when our server completely VANISHED. We pulled a random server in. It was now 1hr into our evening when my husband received his order, but my order was wrong. The random server politely showed us on his apparatus that the order was placed correctly, but they gave me someone elses meal. I was asked to please wait while my order came. At this point, I am famished and my husband shares his meal with me. It's 7:38 and my meal has not arrived. We finally get the attention of the greeter. We explain our dilemma, she apologized emphatically, promises to "handle the ticket", serve us our Lobster Bisque and give us free dessert to go. The LB came almost immediately, cold and barely covering the bottom of the enormous white bow it was served in. THAT'S IT, WE'RE DONE. Also, the promised 2-go-desserts never came, We told the greeter as we walked out and it was if she'd never seen us. THE MANAGER NEVER CAME. Thank God we were able to get a 8:00 table at Brick Top. BRICKTOP SAVED OUR VALENTINE DAY!!! Oh, and we saw our initial server on the way out...no explanation, apology or eye...

Hailey, Hailey, Ms. Hailey! You were absolutely wonderful, thank you for the great service! Lawd knows I was super hungry after visiting those 4 museums. I appreciate you and all the recommendation you provided me. Yes, of course I took her advice and ordered them all. Let’s get in to it; The drink was phenomenal “Dragon Fire-very fitting lol) I loved the smoke show!! The Chilled Hotty Totty- not so much but that’s a preference. She is miss the sugar rim : ( The crab cake appetizer were very delish and way larger then I expected. Good price point! Mozzarella sticks (can’t ever go wrong there) I got the Panhandle Tacos and whatever sauce they use absolutely made the tacos. I wish I could have bought some to take with me. I got crispy Brussels instead of the chip and salsa, I’m so glad I did! They’re the top 5 Brussels sprouts I’ve EVER eaten 8.5/10. I would come back just for that alone (well everything really). If you’ve never been here, get here!!!! I came in around 2pm on Friday and place was empty-SHOCKINGLY SURPRISED. Another great mention is a gentleman named Jay who was ever so kindly enough to give me a tour of the place. The upstairs is an astonishing large event space; bar area, separate kitchen, bridal suit with showers, and the most gorgeous bathrooms. Best in Birmingham from what I was told. If you are looking for lunch, drinks or an event space to rent for whatever reason look no further because this place is certainly it. When I tell you it’s the whole kit & caboodle!
