Drove into Bishop Friday night and just wanted a small dinner. Luckily, we found this spot.
SERVICE - totally 5 stars in itself! The lady and guy at the bar who helped us were so incredibly friendly and personable. You can just tell they're good people and probably come across interesting people working there.
FOOD - YUM! Their simple tomato basil soup and chicken tortilla soup hit the spot and was just what I needed after a long drive. I was about to let my stomach take over and order more food because so much looked really appetizing, buy I knew I couldn't handle it. We will be back though to try out their grilled cheese sandwiches! Dessert was delicious too! Cheesecake STUFFED with a raspberry danish?! What mastermind thought of this??? AND they had huckleberry flavored ice cream that I am a sucker for.
AMBIANCE - Quaint spot that basically has 2 rooms to hang out. One at the entrance with the bar and high boys, the other room with just seating that looks good for reserved parties. Since it was Friday night, they had live music, which was nice to have. Really good feel to the place.
We loved coming here and...
Read moreWe stumbled upon this very special place as we needed to grab a bite while driving through Bishop. When we opened the door we were immediately greeted with a line dancing class. At first we thought we were in the wrong business establishment but turns out line dancing is on offer to the public on Wednesdays. With the recommendation from the friendly bartender, we ordered a grilled cheese adding brisket and sauerkraut and a creole beef brisket sandwich and both were absolutely delicious. We had the honor of meeting chef Teresa who makes the slow cooked brisket in house. We were both blown away by the rich flavor of both our sandwiches and have found our new favorite restaurant along the 395. There’s a lot of love in this taproom and you can feel it as you enter the door and from everyone who works here, so do yourself a favor and stop by for a meal and a beverage. We can’t wait to...
Read moreWe picked this restaurant because of the 4.8 star review, pictures of the cheeseburgers and the drinks that they offered. When we arrived we found out that the only thing on the menu was 3 different hot dogs and some macaroni salad choices, additional there was no liquor only beer offered. We decided to give the hot dogs a try but after waiting 45 minutes and other patrons getting served food 1st even they arrived after us, we decided to pay up and leave. Pretty sure the waitress didn’t even place our order but when we paid up they still charged us for both hotdogs even though we never received them. Also turns out that the place is under new ownership and just opened 4 days ago but is still using the google reviews and pictures from the previous bar that was there. Very disappointing experience to...
