Number One China — Restaurant in Black Mountain

First, great "American Chinese" food, some of the best out there, from living up and down the East Coast. It's going to hit the spot if you are craving that fried rice you put down because you are full yet find yourself craving more five minutes later and polishing it off. A very complete menu, and not a bad dish on there, we've tried quite a few. Even the appetizers are top notch. It's always fast, service is always impeccable, and it's a great value, especially considering the Asheville area.

But, since I am posting this in 2020, I also have to give them a huge shout-out for COVID protocols. Never have I witnessed such ingenuity and thoroughness in crafting solutions to make sure customers were kept safe. Like, they have done some real Rube Goldberg shenanigans. I went to Number one China tonight and asked if they had Thai curry. I was told no so I said okay give me yellow curry instead. I ordered 2 meals and tons of shrimp sauce. The guy even read the order back to me. When I got home there was no curry at all. I immediately called and was told I was not charged. I asked why I was not charged for something I ordered. I was told I could come back and order it. I am literally over an.hour away . i was told the guy didn't think I wanted anything since he didn't have yellow curry. He then asked what I wanted him to do about it and told me again that he didn't charge. The customer service was terrible. I am a regular here but this is definitely my last visit. When we first walked in one of the employees was sitting down eating and then one of the men took our orders and then when it was time to pay he touched the money and then started cooking our food touching all of the chicken without washing his hands or putting on gloves and then the lady finished eating and went right back to cooking without washing her hands and touching her hair and we just told them that we would rather just get the money back so we could go some where else. We told them that they should wash their hands after touching money and before cooking. Their rating was a 94. We will not be...
