Old School Subs — Restaurant in Black Mountain

I have only had a sandwich from Old School a couple times, years ago when I worked nearby in Sweeten Creek. Always remembered it being great. I caught a glimpse of their sign in Black Mountain today on the way to a job site and was pumped to swing in and grab a six inch. I ended up getting the full Sammy which was the best decision I’ve made all week. I would’ve been pissed that I didn’t have more. Everything about it. I’ve used too many words already…. Will be back over and over again. Officially My favorite sando spot in our area. (Still got love for silverball but Old Scool Subs is the one). Great price and exactly what I was looking for . The potato salad was excellent as well, it was a last minute decision to try it instead of VooDoo Zapps. I’ve worked in BBQ and made potato salad daily for a decade so it’s not something I eat, theirs is bomb. Thanks guys! Glad to stumble across this location.

I ordered pick up on door dash after waiting 25 min I drove to the location I didn't mind waiting a little. After getting there I waited an additional 35 min for my food. In the mean time 5 people were served food. The lady working was aware that I was there the whole time and was even told by another worker I was before another customer but she still made his first. The issue is they didn't read there tablet right and see that it was a pickup and NOT a delivery so they didn't make it. The lady was rude at the end and couldn't take blame she said it was my fault for thinking I could get my food before an hour. The other worker tried to let here know...

Ate food here before and wasnt impressed, almost never eat here even though I live up the street and LOVE subs. Go to No.1 China next door, way better food and service. Ole's right up the block is really good as well.

Falsely advertises what time their open on both their menu and online. Way to not answer the phone before 7 even though your answering machine even says youre open. Open til 7 means grills on and making orders until 7 and breakdown/shut off after. Youre misinformed if you think it means dont even bother answering the phone after 630 like you...
