Old Depot Arts & Crafts Center — Attraction in Black Mountain

SO disappointed! I walked in at 3:55 pm 6/19/21, the lady at the register made sure I knew they were closing at 4:30 pm when I set some cards near the register I wanted to purchase. She told me about the back rooms, so I went and looked around and picked out a couple more items to purchase. When I came out of the back room, looking in the 2nd room...I noticed the lights were off in the front. I looked at her, and she was astonished, "Oh, I didn't know you were in here!" Mind you, it was 4:20 pm...she had not looked to see if anyone was in the store before locking the door and turning out lights (except the room I was in) and closing out the cash register and the credit card machine. I tried to tell her that she could run the card and it would just go on the next day, she said, "we're closed tomorrow", it was final, I couldn't make my purchase. I live locally, and I won't be back...I spent my time picking out special things for my Mother's 79th birthday next week, which has to be mailed....and I walked out of there with nothing. Got to my car, and it was literally 4:25 pm. What???? Not only do I STILL have to find something else for my Mom, three artists lost commission and this is getting posted. shame! some advise: If you're going to close early, be smart about it and make sure everyone is out of the store before...
