Waffle House — Restaurant in Blacksburg

At first, there was one lady who was really nice to me and my friends and I was glad, but later we went to the Jukebox to pick some songs and we ended up spending maybe 5 total dollars on the music and we did end up playing a few funny songs like Let It Go because there was only one other customer there and he even laughed when we played it. After playing some songs (most were actually good songs too) the WHOLE staff went outside to smoke and talk (by this time the other customer was gone) we were slightly confused that we were left unattended in the restaurant but it was okay. Then we noticed the staff keep looking over at us in a way as if they were gossiping about us. We did notice that they all did seem in a bad mood, so we tried to play some nice songs like Don't Worry Be Happy. Then an employee came back in and walked to to back and did something and the music stopped. Then he walked out. By this time, there was still probably 3 dollars worth of songs we played for but weren't played. And as the guy was walking out we asked pretty loudly if he paused the music and he completely ignored us. At this point I was mad because that was literally the rest of my cash that I had which I used for those songs so me and my friends could have a good time while we ate. I was very angry about this and disappointed that the staff was being so rude. And please note that I had already played for my food and gave the last and MORE than generous tip since she WAS being so kind. I'm extremely disappointed in this experience and outraged with the amount of rudeness...

I am a regular at this restaurant. I called to place an order and the lady set the phone down and never picked back up, I waited on the phone for about 5 minutes listening to the background noise in the restaurant, did not sound busy, so I hung up

Undeterred, I went in to place an order in person and the server/cashier yelled at me to tell me someone was waiting on a booth being cleared.

I told her I was placing an order to go. I tried to place my order. fiesta omelet with hash browns, she interrupted me and said "we are not doing omelets today, machines broke." The other server suggested they could do it the "old fashioned way" and the server cashier turned and shook her head. I changed my order to a sausage and egg sandwich and hash browns , cooked in the ring to stay round and crispy, she said " we have no rings, can't do it" I had placed the order for a fiesta omelet w/ hash browns cooked in the ring three days ago by phone, to be picked up at the same store and they had no problem with the order.

So, frustrated, I told the lady it seems like she wanted to say " no" today, so I left. Very disappointed, worst Waffle House experience I have ever had.

Super negative attitude, unhelpful and rude. Huge difference from what I am accustomed to from that location.

Lastly, the poor woman at the register only had about 5 teeth and her breath about knocked me over across the counter/register. I hope she gets some dental care, maybe she is in discomfort and that is why she is so rude.

Not sure if I will return, will...

My girlfriend and I decided to come here for lunch, but we were met with horrible service. As soon as we sat down, our waiter stood at our table almost immediately without saying anything. Assuming he was just trying to get our drinks, I ask for water to which he rudely responds, “You’re not ready to order yet?” We had literally just got there a minute ago so I had no idea how he could’ve expected us to be ready to order. He leaves and comes back with our drinks, which he mildly slams on the counter, and continues to stand over us as we look at the menu. We ask for a few more minutes and he loudly sighs and storms off. Feeling extremely uncomfortable with our experience, we decided to leave before ordering any food, but we still had to pay a dollar since he gave us drinks despite our horrible service. I’ve been to this waffle house before and have had good experiences, but I will never go here again after this. I highly recommend firing him as this is obviously behavior that other people in the reviews have complained...
