Red Bud Cafe

Cute establishment with outside covered dining. They advertise as “kid friendly” but don’t offer much of a “kid menu”.

We were a party of four adults and 2 children, age 4 years and 16 months. I went inside and asked for a menu so that I could go back to the covered porch and get everyone’s order. The request for a paper menu was a big problem as their system is a chalkboard menu. When you place the order they give you a table. After an extensive search, a paper menu was found and I secured a table. My husband went inside with our orders and paid. They gave him 3 glasses of water and an ice tea. Fortunately, they helped him bring the drinks to our table.

When they brought out the food, I realized there was no salt and pepper on the table so I asked the waitress for some. She returned with salt and pepper packets. Because three of us had ordered the Blanco Burger, I then asked for ketchup. The waitress sighed a big sigh of distress and said, are you sure that’s all you will need? I said, yes, as we were eating hamburgers and ketchup was necessary.

I realize condiments weren’t on the table due to Covid restrictions, but if your serving hamburgers, you might anticipate offering salt and pepper and ketchup!

Our daughter ordered a cheese pimento sandwich. Immediately, she said the bread was stale. I bit into my hamburger. It was cold and greasy. It was raw inside! Everyone else was eating, so I didn’t mention the food issues. After all, we had the two little ones and wanted to enjoy our meal together while they were well behaved and happy at the table.

When we left I asked my husband and son in law if they liked their burgers? Both said their burgers were raw!

In hindsight, we should have sent the entire meal back to the kitchen. We will not return to The...

Originally was going to give a 4 but because of the correction to the order I am giving a 5.

I have been to the Redbud Cafe many times before. Always impressed! I come for the famous chocolate chip peanut butter cookie (military/veterans) receive a complimentary cookie that is very much appreciated) and tried a salad to go for dinner that originally I thought was a bit short on being filled.

It comes with a small piece of bread and house dressing, all delicious. But when I took the piece of bread out, and the dressing and shook the salad a bit to make sure the salad was correct (supposed to have e cran raisins and pecans and blue cheese crumbles... I noticed it was not filled all the way with lettuce and spinach. At least a quarter of salad was missing. It's a great salad! I've had it before. When plated at the restaurant no issues! But with To-Go maybe a little more attention to filling the box would be appreciated to avoid a redo.

It's a $15 salad I believe not including tax and just wanted the box to be filled as it should be not bare space if that makes sense. When I took it to the counter to explain to the young man that it wasn't done correctly he gave me a very confused look and had to explain myself twice. It was during the lavender festival so poor thing was probably tired and exhausted but he did correct it and loaded it up with spinach and it was more filled than before. So for that thank you for making it correctly! Much appreciated! I'll still be back and hopefully will eat the salad at...

Redbud Cafe, nestled in the heart of Texas, offers a dining experience that seamlessly blends culinary excellence with community spirit. From the moment I stepped inside, it was evident that John, the owner, is not just a proprietor but a passionate steward of this beloved establishment.

As I perused the charming interior, my attention was drawn to John diligently updating the live music chalkboard—an indication of the cafe's commitment to fostering a vibrant local arts scene. This attention to detail and dedication to providing a unique ambiance set the tone for what proved to be a delightful dining experience.

Opting for the quiche and 1/2 salad combo, I was treated to a flavorful medley of fresh, healthy ingredients that surpassed my expectations. Meanwhile, my companion savored every bite of their hearty burger, a testament to the diverse and satisfying menu offerings at Redbud Cafe.

However, it wasn't just the delectable fare that left a lasting impression; it was the exceptional service and warm hospitality that truly set Redbud Cafe apart. The staff's attentiveness and genuine enthusiasm for their craft made us feel not just like patrons, but valued members of a welcoming community.

In a world where fast-paced dining often takes precedence, Redbud Cafe stands out as a beacon of authenticity and connection. Whether you're stopping by for a meal, catching live music, or simply seeking a place to unwind, Redbud Cafe offers an inviting haven where fresh flavors meet genuine...

Good food as recommended by a friend from work. It was about an hour drive from home and we took the scenic drive. Food was pretty good, place was crowded and we were told that there would be a 45 minute wait for the food. Considering the was only one other place still open, we stayed. They had already run out of French Fries and other sides. I ended up ordering a side salad and had to pay $2.00 extra, which should've been given to me without charge since they ran out of the a "basic" side item. Our kids ordered "sweet" tea, and I saw they had some type of "liquid sugar." I ordered the Bleu Cheese burger. I ordered it cooked medium well and it came out a little "crisp-ier" than it should've. I couldn't have it cooked over since it had already been a long wait. We ordered the chips, salsa and queso, and the chips seemed as if they were out of a bag. The "queso" was tepid and the salsa was ok. Our kids had to have chips because there were no fries. My wife ordered a coffee but, they said they didn't have any. She went with a Fanta (Orange) and I also ordered a large Coke in a bottle. The down side, they didn't tell us to pull the drinks out of the cooler until after we had started our meals. The music was great. We will come back again so we can come in earlier so we can get the full meal experience.

We took a drive to Blanco, TX for lunch, which is about 35-40 minutes from home. We ended up at a charming eatery that truly captures the essence of country living. It’s a simple, authentic Texas spot with a warm atmosphere. While the food was good, it didn’t quite reach the level of greatness I had hoped for. I tried the Philly cheesesteak, which didn’t compare to the original in Philly, PA, but I was curious to give it a shot. It was priced at around $16, which was a bit surprising, but I guess food prices have risen everywhere. The others in our group ordered burgers, and those were generous in size and tasty. One notable aspect was the absence of fries or chips on the menu. Instead, they offered sides like home fries with is more like breakfast potatoes, which felt a bit mismatched with a burger. So, we ended up spending close to $16 for a burger without the traditional side of fries or chips. While it was a bit disappointing, I tried to look at the bright side: at least I didn’t overindulge on carbs! Overall, I would consider dining there again, but wow—$16 burgers and a Philly cheesesteak! It certainly gives you something to think about.
